Functional but smelly.
Hoomie•November 28, 2016
I love that they're split but honestly they had a weird smell that lasted about a week.
Five Stars

Very nice compromise for a stairwell too narrow for a complete queen-sized box. Appropriate outer material, solid feeling construction.
Please Do Not Buy

Please do buy this. It is actually not a box spring. There are no springs so it is just a box made of very fragile wood. One of them broke on delivery so we had to wait a week for the new ones. When the new ones came they were fine for a few days and then the one broke just from getting into bed. I was enticed by the price but I would recommend spending a little more on a quality box spring.
Do not Buy

Do not buy. We had two sets sent to us and both were crushed. The wood inside the box springs is very cheap. Pulling them out of the boxes you could hear the wood cracking. We have returned both sets and buying a less expensive aluminum split box set. Terrible product.
Initially good, but failed within 6 months

When it first arrived it was a huge improvement to the problem we were having. You see, our house's steps are too short to fit a traditional box spring up. This led to us having to cut the box spring down the middle and bracing it once we brought it up. Eventually it began to sag in the middle. When these arrived, it was awesome. Much better support then our original. Within the first few months, there were numerous pops and creaks from the box spring, within 6 months, both began to creak beyond what we could bear. So in a pinch, or in a non primary bed, these may be fine. For us, they were just too cheap to hold up.
