All ages love this game, and you can have just about as many players as you want. The board is well-made, solid construction. I deducted a "durability" star because the horses themselves aren't the most solid game piece ever made, but they should work fine for 99% of situations. We really enjoy the betting aspect, too, because you can buy in for a dollar and use poker chips as pennies - if you want to keep it low-stakes. We've also played with dollar bills - and THAT was a lot more shouting, but also a lot more exhilarating when you won. Get this game. It's a little pricey, but you'll play it forever and can use it for a great game night.

Learned of this game a few months ago and had it on my wish list as I couldn't quite find it in me to pull the trigger on a game that was $100. I am glad I finally decided to pull the trigger. I took this to my first get together and my friends and myself all had an absolute blast. I'm pretty sure 3-4 people just from that night purchase the game themselves. It's very easy to learn, and keeps people entertained for hours. I figured the easiest way to gamble with this was using poker chips and having someone play the bank via a payment app like Venmo. That way people can buy in for whatever amount and cash out for whatever amount.
I only ranked this a 4 stars for one reason.. I wish was that the horses were made of metal instead of cheap plastic pieces that you need to place the horse number stickers on each horse yourself. I would think that for $100, you should at least get some nicely made horses that will last forever. I mean, even a $20 monopoly set comes with metal game pieces. Please either give the option to upgrade to metal horses or just include this for people in the future.

I bought the dark walnut board and it's really nice. The wood is dense, the stain is nice and the brass hole rings are a nice touch.
My only complaint is they cheaped out by making the horses out of cheap green Army men plastic which really takes away from the classy feel of the entire boardset.
