Looks great - butter mostly fits

Like others have stated here the butter doesn't quite fit. For me, in the midwest, my standard butter stick is just a hair too tall which makes the lid sort of smash the butter. Overall it still works okay and looks great, but do know that it might not fit your butter stick perfectly.

You definitely need the right size of butter sticks to go in there so it doesn't touch the lid and make a mess, but other than that it does the job fine. Don't expect the lid to stay on if you were to hold it sideways or something because there isn't a gasket. It is designed to just sit on top of the dish to keep the butter covered.

Not exactly but sits FLAT on the ceramic dish so pretty well closed up.A regular stick of butter fits fine. I am COMPLETELY satisfied with this dish 100% happy with it!!! My sister ordered the same one right away and was completely satisfied also. This is a smart design! Not to mention sooo pretty !
Be aware of lid configuration...

VERY cute, but did not realize the lid just sits on top. If you bump it in fridge it falls off or tilt it removing it from the fridge and aren't careful, it falls off. I wouldn't have purchased had I known. Needs a gasket or something.

Super cute! Hold the butter, but lid doesn't close down on butter, we have to wait until the butter is warm and push down!
