Product makes an excellent and FAST base for vegetable beef soup. Good filler for chili and beans, great meat base for pasta gravy/sauce, good filler for tacos. Filler for many beef sandwich recipes. You are limited only by your imagination in using this canned, cooked beef product.

Non-BPA packaging. No refrigeration required unless you open the can. Upon opening the can, there will be pieces of beef, some broth and small white rings of natural beef fat. Keep the fat, add this fat to whatever recipe you use.

I will continue to purchase and use this product. I do purchase and cook with fresh beef, but there are times when I do not want to put up with all the extra work in cooking beef to use in a small recipe so I use the Keystone beef product. Keystone beef is GREAT.

I regret not buying this canned beef pre-covid; it was always saved in my shopping cart and I just didn't know if I wanted to risk buying something that can be a horrible food item: canned meat. NOT TRUE with this brand! Keystone beef is wonderful. I made a "hamburger helper" one-pot meal with my first can. Pasta and vegetables with a sour cream/yogurt sauce similar to a Stroganoff.

The flavor and texture were perfect. I have had other brands of canned beef that are over cooked, dry, and mealy. Keystone was just like roast beef. In the one-pot recipe that I made, it bumped up the quality from hamburger to chunks of roast beef. Even my 92-y-o mother liked the flavor and quality of the Keystone beef... that's almost impossible to find... something that she likes.

One cannot place a price on quality. This is a very high quality product. It is all meat and no fat. It also does not contain preservatives, other than the right amount of salt that preserves it, but, does not make it salty. I cooked it it with sweet peas, baby carrots, red pimentos, and a small amount of potato chunks. I added two tblsps of Sofrito Goya, one tsp of Goya Seasoning, two tblsps of powdered Garlic, one envelope of Sazon Goya, and, half a cup of minced Onion. I served it over white rice, and it was a hit, even to my daughters discerning taste buds. It is high priced, but, it was every bit as good as I expected for the price. I understand the price, in light of the fact that it has a very long storage life, which makes it an emergency survival product. All survival products are expensive. As a retired proffesional, from the ranks of Quality Assurance/Quality Control, my respect goes out to the QA/QC and Production Personnel, who are responsible for this product.

I've been going through my emergency supplies before they go past their "best by" date. I bought this in 2020 and the best by date is 2025. It is by far the best tasting canned meat I've tried. I bought more today. Good to have on hand.

I purchased the Keystone pork, turkey, beef and ground beef and the beef was the best by far. I found it the least dry of all of them and the chunks made the product more useful than the others that tended to break into very tiny bits. The beef was also the most appetizing in the can. As with all these products I have no intention of using them on a regular basis but want to know that I would eat this if there was a problem and this would be the first one I'd go to.

I prepared the beef 2 ways :
Beef stew- made a packaged brown gravy, added the beef (with liquid), canned diced potatoes and canned peas and carrots. Simmered about 10 minutes. Served to picky people and they thought it was very good.

Beef stroganoff- prepared a packaged stroganoff noodle mix using extra powdered milk and water, added large can of sliced mushrooms and folded in the beef. This was also rated "very good" by my picky eater panel.
