Does a good job cranking heavy items up, but during the lowering process it hangs up a little when the guide rollers transition off the top swivel tube and onto the stationary hitch tube. Items approaching 250 pounds cause the hitch tube to flex a little. That in combination with play in the hitch attachment makes the item on the lifting platform tilt a small amount. The biggest issue I think is tall items cannot be lifted high enough to swivel the base around because the crank handle will run into the loaded item before it's fully cranked up. A quick work around is to secure the load about 10 inches away from the crank mechanism making sure the load is secured very well with ratchet tie downs. Overall it's a great deal for the money, but could be improved in a few areas. I recommend it for anyone wanting to save their back.

I purchased the Viking Swivelift to load and unload my generator off my truck when camping out alone. It was perfect and I realized I could also use this tool for many other lifting projects. Works great to swing the load right into the back of my truck. I recommend this lift as a worthwhile purchase for a reasonable price. As in many cases these days the assembly instructions could have been better.

All reviews both positive and negative for this were helpful and true. Yes, it does hang up when lowering. It was also difficult to attach the winch. The design is not perfect. That being said, it is an ingenious idea, and with only minor assembly, I'm able to lift a 180 lb generator into the back of my 2004 Tundra alone easily.

Great product that solved a real problem, especially older hunters who sometimes hunt alone. Easy to assemble. And great for anything heavy to put in truck.

Nice quality however, unless you have 8" long fingers you will find it dificult to attach the ratchet assembly because the bolts dont go through the tube, you have to hold everything inplace while trying to get the washer and nut on inside the tube.
