Only issue is they are a little thin in spots, so using as a hot pad to remove casseroles can present a little risk.
Not that it matters too much since I bought these to primarily be used as trivets and they are terrific in that role.
Also used one just the other day to open a jar of pickles and it did well in that regard.

Can't believe I have been using aging terry cloth and fabric pot holders. for years, burning my hands, having to move quickly to a surface to place a hot pot and let go! I had tried silicone, but the ones I had tried previously were stiff and cumbersome to use and I didn't feel they were safe, as I could not grip the dish safely, that I was trying to remove from the stove or oven. These pot holders are perfect. They allow me to grip any pot or dish safely and I don't feel like I am about to burn my hand. I can also use them as trivets, or as spoon rests beside my cooktop, for quick dishwasher cleanup! About to order more for my camper and additional ones for my home kitchen.

Not as grand as expected, and I thought they were overpriced. I found some in Walmart that I liked a little better, which were thicker, smooth on both sides, but not much color choice. These are just sitting in a kitchen drawer, waiting to be used as a trivet.
Update -- After several months, these potholders are beginning to grow on me. Although they still seem a bit clunky and awkward to use, I really do appreciate a product that you can just rinse off when there is food on it. And I actually have used them as a trivet. Upgraded my rating to four stars.
