Very strong safe and one of the cool things my lady found out about the one I got her is that the foam inside is kind of layered so you can take some out if your gun is a bit too wide. I have been able to fit various Taurus and Canik 9mm's inside this box. The safety cable that comes with it is your standard lock cable that you'd see with laptops or something of the like and is extremely well done. It appeared to be multiple lines of steel wire wrapped and insulated together with a single end that fits neatly into the box.
I love this thing and would definitely recommend it.
Lastly, I bought 2 at once and no, the keys did not work on both, but just the box they came with.

So far, so good. As a retired peace officer I am rarely without a concealed handgun on my person. However, we often travel a considerable distance to attend concerts and other events and frequently use our motor home to travel . Because some of these venues are "gun free zones", where they won't allow even off-duty or retired peace officers with CCW privileges to carry, I would have to leave my firearm in the RV or other vehicle.
This simple, yet strong and effective, lock box allows me to store my firearm in the vehicle with a modicum of security and to remain in compliance with the laws in CA and other jurisdictions. When we travel considerable distances, I often bring two handguns, one full-sized and one compact, and once again this allows me to leave the second in the RV while carrying the other with less (though not no) worry. It's also large enough to hold both handguns when necessary.
The included cable has allowed me to secure it to the robust frame for the jackknife sofa in the RV which in turn is bolted to the vehicle frame. It's out of sight and though not impregnable would take a considerable amount of time for someone to find and open or remove.

I was considering this item vs a similar GunVault (which I actually own, just needed a 2nd one) and decided to buy this one. The SnapSafe is slightly bigger, the metal and cable are slightly thicker and has more padding inside which you can remove, and it is slightly cheaper than the GunVault one.
So, you may consider this one a better deal however keep in mind that if you need to fit it in a very small space GunVault may be a better option. Mine fits just right, if it were a quarter inch thicker it would have not worked.

Excellent lock box at a reasonable price. It's perfect for legally transporting handguns. I can just fit my Ruger SP101 4.2" barrel (about 9.5" OAL) and three full HKS speedloaders. It has two layers of foam padding on each side, so you can remove layers as needed to customize the fit. I will probably be buying more of these. UPDATE: I bought another one for my new baby, a Ruger Redhawk .357 Mag 2.75" barrel, and it works just fine too.
