Warm and safe

I keep this in the car for emergencies and I love it. It's a bright color to allow me to be easily seen day or night.

The coat fits well with even a bit of room in there for bulky sweaters.

It's warm and safe.
Well-Made, Working Man's Coat

This high-visibility work coat delivers as advertised. It's not something to buy for a fashion statement, and the fit is somewhat boxy if you have a slim or athletic build. The collar looks and feels over-stuffed with the hood zipped down, so I recommend pulling it free. The reflective pattern is the same one you see on construction workers, and there's nothing subtle about the bright yellow coloring. But if you're looking for a well-made piece of outerwear, with plenty of room for layering, that will keep you visible, warm and dry during a rain storm or blizzard, this is a good choice.
Great Three Season Waterproof Jacket

Pros: Fabulous quality, "High Visibility," easy fit, water proof, insulated.
Cons: May be too "High Visibility" for some.

When I unpacked this jacket, I could hear my husband murmuring "Killer Bee" under his breath. And yes, the yellow is "High Visibility" and there are reflective strips across the chest and around the arms. This is obviously a workman's jacket, but it also a great jacket to wear while dog walking, wearing in the rain, hiking in the woods, or just pretending you are the Wichita Lineman (And if it snows that stretch down south won't ever stand the strain.)

The quality of this garment is excellent. As work wear, it has been clearly designed to withstand years of comfortable wearing while active outdoors, providing protection from the elements.

The outer shell is made of PU coated polyester that is waterproof and breathable. There is light polyester insulation under the shell. The lining is polyamide. There is soft microfleece on the inside colllar. The zipper is a durable plastic, and there are hook and loop tabs as well. There is a zip off, adjustable hood. Outside pockets, inner security pocket. Adjustable storm cuffs. The back is longer than the front. There is even a place inside where you can write your name.

This jacket is machine washable with warm water and machine dryable on low heat.

The fit is generous. It is obviously designed to be worn with a layer or two underneath. This is not a winter jacket, but it is insulated. Wear a heavy sweatshirt underneath and it will be quite warm.

Overall, the look is rugged and manly.

My husband likes this jacket a lot. Its his go to garment for late night dog walking. A little rain? A little sleet or snow? No problem!

I don't like the idea of "standing out from the pack", but I also don't like the idea of becoming roadkill due to some negligent driver because I was not using any safety clothing. While not really suitable for everyday use, unless it's your profession (and then you already have one) I found this to be a perfectly useable and well made jacket for any sort of use. That is, if you don't mind the glare. Consider it sort of anti-camo. But it's well designed and clearly work-ready.

Needless to say, the visibility is stunning, as you can see in the photo, the reflector stripes alone are probably visible for 50 yards, these low-light flash photo was taken from only about 10- 25 feet but the glare surprised me.

And during a recent storm, I got some actual field reporting done. If the video loads you will see that in the brush this particular color is not quite as stand-out as it would be on against a background with more contrast.

I have a Large, which while not exactly a close fit alone, is great as an outer layer, as is it's typical use would dictate. I don't think the lining is more than a fair insulator, but if you are doing manual labor this is a good thing. It's flexible and comfy over everything but a tee-shirt, then it's a little baggy but as this is definitely a work jacket, I can tolerate close enough.

Since it's a large, and I am not, I found the length to be just about right. A drawstring might have been handy but is not missed. I suspect this may be a good thing for cyclists, which I am not a serious of enough of one to ride in the wet, but it would be excellent for this use as well. Obviously, the visibility even in low-light foggy weather is brilliant.

The zipper is fine, a set a little bit further back from the edge with a fat rubber tab attached to the puller, excellent for wet and gloved use, once I got used to the setback it was almost too easy to zip, even with one hand. Velcro closures seal the fly which is at once convenient and irritating, convenient because, well Velcro- much easier to close than snaps or with gloves, and irritating because Velcro- everything else Velcro based (hood attach points, closure, cuffs) seems to get snagged at one point or another. But, for a large jacket, the cuffs cinch down tight and make a good seal against a gloved or even bare hand.

Disappointed to find only two pouch pockets, I should have read more closely. They aren't really that spacious, I miss hand pockets in any outerwear, but after all, this is for working. They are capacious enough to haul around just about anything, my iPad mini fits nicely- the permanently-down flaps make an unavoidable seal. Unfortunately, there are no pass-through slots which makes a more waterproof jacket but also inconvenient for inside access. One nicely fit inside pocket runs parallel to the front flap and is neatly sealed with a zipper, I almost didn't notice it at first but it's indispensable.

The hood fits well, and is easy to remove and attach "“ yes, Velcro. It stores easily rolled up and quickly (unlike so many others I have used) and the flaps seal with, well, Velcro. And yes, the hood can be pulled back off of your face and held with a (what else?) Velcro strap. It works really well to pull the rim back in a hurry, even with one gloved hand. I would say a lot of thought and road testing went into the design of this jacket. Oddly enough, the drawstring neck uses not Velcro but a conventional drawstring with spring stop adjusters.

I have really found use for it while sweeping or caring for the stuff at the edge of my property which ends at a busy road, and while I usually do so with much alertness, this is an extra margin of safety in bad weather. Plus, with a hardhat and a clipboard you can probably gain access to just about anywhere.
Good jacket

This is a very good option for a high visibility jacket. It's insulated and should keep you warm on the work site, especially if you wear some thermal gear underneath. My observations are that it would be a more effective jacket with a bit more length. This jacket stops right at your waist and I feel like a 3/4 length would offer more wind protection. I also notice that the included hood makes the collar quite stiff, when the hood is stored. Maybe that will loosen up over time. All in all, it's a good jacket though.
