I purchased this encasement due to being "waterproof" since we have a loved one that urinates in the bed. I purchased a new mattress so I wanted a new encasement cover to help protect it. I put an egg crate type mattress pad under this encasement for comfort to my loved one. The second night in use the bed was saturated. Urine had soaked through 2 'chuck' type mattress pads, fitted sheet, fitted waterproof mattress pad, this encasement cover and was pooling ontop of the egg crate pad. In other words, everything that I had bought brand new that was labeled "waterproof" wasn't truly urine proof. I did find that it was easy to wash but not so easy to dry in the dryer due to the product wading up in a ball during tumble cycle. I am not completely dissatisfied with product since I washed it and placed it right back on the bed (lol).

I have a 35 year old Sealy 6" mattress along with a 4" memory foam topper on top of it for my Danish platform bed (cannot use higher mattress's in it) . I somehow got bird mites (probably from my GF's dog) which showed up a teeny tiny bite marks on my arms. I steamed everything in my master bedroom, put down Suspend SC insecticide along the baseboards, dryer high heat of all sheets & pad and then encased the mattress and topper with this SureGuard (9-12" on my Queen bed). Voila, the bird mites were gone! Fitted fine and do not feel it at all.

We bought this to protect our brand new mattress from our kids. It is very comfortable and doesn't feel at all like vinyl protectors we've used before. I cannot yet attest to how water proof it is so perhaps this review is a bit premature, but it appears to be of good quality and most reviews were positive so I am hopeful it will work as advertised.

These took a little longer than usual to arrive in fact we forgot about them as we won't be using them till next summer on our new bunk beds bought for grand kids visiting. They look OK though and just what we ordered as the bottom mattress came at 8'' the top bunk mattress came as a 6"" so these will be perfect.It took us ages to find just the right sizes in our home stores non of them sold bunk bed size mattress covers only deep twin which would have constantly moved under the sheet.
