Cute but more for decoration

This ladle is really cute but not very functional. The neck of it is very thin so I don't feel like it's sturdy enough to scoop anything heavy.
Cheap knock-off - NOT a genuine Ototo product.

This is advertised as an Ototo Nessie Ladle and it simply is not. This is an extremely small, very cheap knock-off. I own a genuine Ototo Mamma Nessie Colander Spoon and it is large, useful, and made of a very heavy-duty plastic. The plastic of this item is so thin that just picking up the "ladle" causes the neck/handle to bend!!! There is no way this could function as a ladle with actual food. Additionally, this is VERY small - nowhere near the size of a regular ladle.
Simply put, this vendor - "Jsuperstore" - is falsely selling this as a genuine Ototo item and it is not. There was no packaging, labeling or anything at all with this item - just the ladle loose in a box. Very disappointed. I recommend buying directly from Ototo so you get what you pay for.

Fun and functional...everybody needs a Loch Ness Ladel!

What can you say about a Loch Ness ladel?!?! Love cooking with it and seeing that cute little head poking up above the pot! Makes cooking so much more fun and an awesome gift, especially for the price! I bought a bunch at Christmas and gave one to everyone in my family. Pair with a bunch of other quirky kitchen gadgets and you have an awesome wedding gift! Only complaint is that they don't all stand on their own, as the head makes the weight a little off balance. The plastic is a little flimsy when scooping heavier stuff, but it is functional. Nessie approved of my parsnip, potato, and carrot soup. :)

So I ordered this Nessie ladle in purple my favorite color - after reading the reviews I was a little worried until mine came! It is not the real Nessie ladle as it doesn't have the markings on the bottom but I did not feel that my ladle was thin or cheaply made - as a matter of fact we used it in a soup that we made in the croc pot - this Nessie ladle worked perfect and I had no issues with it melting! my kids actually named it Steve and they love using it! I got this for a really great price so I am not complaining one bit as it did its job - the only concern I had was that the seller shipped it in a plastic bag and it really wasn't protected however it arrived in perfect condition!
It may be cute, but the dyes leached into my food and who knows what else.

I purchased all three colors of these ladles as gifts. However, I washed one of them up for personal use only to find the dye was released into my cream soup. After eating dinner I returned to the pot to put away leftovers only to find that the soup that was touching the ladle was bright green (this was with the green version). At this point they are all going back -- I'm not about to gift something that leaves unknown residues/dyes in the food. The seller worked with me on the problem and I have no issues with them.
