Hazelnuts/filberts were always a treat growing up in Oklahoma. That was what was in our Christmas stocking and I was always so thrilled. Now I have grown tired of grocery store nuts that seem like they were in the back warehouse from last year. These are so fresh and flavorful. I can't stop eating them and my spouse calls me a squirrel as I fill my cheeks. These are also great for making cookies fruitcake.
