Since 2011 Topeak Road Morph G bicycle pumps have been my choice for both my touring and repurposed mountain bikes. The one purchased almost seven years ago is still fully functional (a credit to it's durable construction) as is the one purchased four years ago, as would be expected. After looking at newer alternatives I decided to make a change.
It is important to me to have an integrated gauge so I do not have to carry an additional piece of equipment which can be critical when touring. This requirement narrows the field. The pump I opted to buy is the Pro Bike Mini Bike Pump with Gauge. Its maximum pressure (120 psi) is well within my pressure requirements and having both Schrader and Presta compatibility built in was significant.
Having used it very little I can't speak to durability, but it has a sturdy feel. The unique, reversible, screw-on fittings (one end of the hose for Schrader and one for Presta) is outstanding. I suppose if one is a skinny-tire, gotta-hurry roadie, the time required to screw on and unscrew might cut into best-time, but for an old man in no great hurry it's fool-proof and cool.
Inflating from 70 to 90 psi required no more effort than I anticipated, the action was smooth and the grip while pumping was good. If there is a negative it is visibility of the markings on the gauge, but this might be more related to my aged eyes than to an inadequacy on the part of the pump.
Should the pump fail or demonstrate any problems I'll update this review, but I anticipate only smooth riding and pumping.

but it is the first that actually screws onto the valve for a perfect, airtight connection
Raphael Frommer✓ Verified Purchase•November 17, 2017
This is not my first Presta valve pump, but it is the first that actually screws onto the valve for a perfect, airtight connection. That's the first plus. Others include
(1) The integral pressure gauge, which I don't expect to be accurate. But its readings can be calibrated to a known-accurate gauge, and thereafter provide a meaningful readout.
(2) Solid construction.
(3) Hose-based strain-relieving attachment (which reduces the possibility of stressing the valve).
(4) Reasonable compactness and lightness.
The expected downside of having to pump a lot to get a tire up to higher pressure is really no problem, since flats are rare compared to regular top-offs using the big floor pump in my garage.

Solid Little Pump

Great pump with great features! The pressure gauge is a great functional addition to this pump with very little weight penalty. It matches my floor pump gauge to within a few psi. I tested it on my Gatorskin tires and was able to get the pressure up to 100 psi. I probably could have gotten it to the 110 psi that is recommended with a little more perseverance but it would have required a LOT of force. I gave out before the pump did. Fewer pumps at a higher volume to inflate the tire but you really gotta work for those last few PSI!
The finish is shiny but the grooves in it make it fairly grippy at the same time. There are two caps on either end to keep the dust out.
I was concerned that it might unscrew the valve core when I tried to remove it at high pressure. That was what my last pump did and why I bought this one to replace it. On pumps with a screw-on nozzle (as opposed to clamp-on) this can be a problem. No worries here though! Worked great on the test runs.
This isn't the lightest or the smallest pump out there. It weighs in at 129 grams (4.5 ounces) without the hanger bracket and is 8 7/8" inches long. My last pump was half the weight and half the length. Coincidentally, it left me stranded on the side of the road with no cell service exactly half the time! You do the math.

Wow! The best hand pump ever.

This is by far the nicest on-bike/portable hand pump I've ever encountered. The machine work and craftsmanship is excellent. The pump is made form turned aluminum and has a very solid, quality feel in hand. Another reviewer mentioned "Apple-like" quality, and I would have to agree.
The pressure gauge included in the fill hose is reasonably accurate, but it starts at 20psi and only shows 10 psi increments. This is good for refills on the road and emergencies, but isn't so helpful if you want or need to ride at a specific off standard tire pressure. If you do happen to pump to even increments of 10psi above 20 psi, then you'll find this to be a perfectly acceptable pump; possibly even using it as your main pump.
Connections to Schrader and presta valves are screw on. This takes a little more time to do than a quick release lever, but you get more positive, no leak, pumping. When every pump counts, not having blow-buy is essential.
Of all the small pumps out there, this one is your best choice.

What a gem!

My research into mini/portable bike pumps really paid off. Everybody I spoke with and everything I read about Pro Bike gave me confidence that this little pump is top shelf. Even so, I still didn't expect it to exceed my own expectations for a good bike pump. The rubber hitting the road, however, is how well it *actually works* in real-life. I had no trouble using this on my bike tire. It doesn't take extreme exertion to fill a tire and attaching/removing the pump from tire valve is fast and easy. It took me less than 10 minutes from start to finish to get my tire inflated. The pump mechanism/resistance is excellent, which means no air leaks between pump and the tire, which also means less exertion/strokes to get the tire inflated. For a small pump, this packs a real punch. All said, I am really pleased with the pump, starting from the commonsense design, to the quality materials/construction, to its ease of use and protective coverings that keep moisture and dirt out. This is a hidden gem among the dozens (hundreds?) of bike pumps on the market. If you want excellent quality, ease of use and a pump that does the job well -- all at a great price -- this is the one. Really can't say enough good things about it!
