Excellent protection!

Really good silicone gloves! Haven't found anything better. Quite flexible with good grippers in the palms. Until now, I have used several other silicone mittens and finger protectors etc. - none as good as these gloves! Really excellent helpers for someone like me who loves to bake and make casseroles, not to mention uses stainless steel stockpots for loads of lentil soup. Don't do any grilling or cooking over actual flames but why limit use to that? These gloves do a great job of protecting me from accidental burns when adding/removing heavy cookie sheets or large casserole dishes to/from the oven and dealing with very heavy pots on top of the range. I have an electric range, so cannot comment on gas ranges. Like the gloves so much that I bought 2 more pairs in a larger size for my sons.
Great gloves for handling hot food and hot BBQ utensils

Great gloves for handling hot food and hot BBQ utensils. I have a cast iron griddle on my BBQ and after use, I take it into the kitchen to wash it in the sink. Previously I would juggle it using 2 oven mitt and burn a finger here and there because the cast iron griddle was still hot and once the oven mitts were wet they did not insulate anymore. Now with these gloves I can easily clean them in the sink with no more burnt fingers. They are also good for handle and carving turkeys, roasts, etc.
... and it was kind of a challenge finding a good pair of protective cooking gloves that don't fit me ...

I have smallish hands and it was kind of a challenge finding a good pair of protective cooking gloves that don't fit me like a giant foam finger from a ballgame. These fit me and work great. I use them for grilling as well as for handling hot cast iron pans and sheet pans in the kitchen. They're waterproof and easy to clean as well.
I also found that the textured surface on the palms is awesome for shredding pork and chicken using your hands while the meat is still hot. Added bonus!

well made and fit purpose with exception of lost dexterity

I received two emails from the seller bugging me for feedback. Due to security risks I did not follow the email link, instead I will provide feedback directly here.....
My hands are large (9.5 inches) so following the seller chart I ordered Large. They seem very large to the point of losing dexterity.
I am hesitant to reorder a s/m as I can't imaging I would be able to pull them off. I am wondering how much variation there is in the manufacturing process - would another pair of Large fit differently?
I ordered these to handle kabab skewers over a charcoal BBQ. We like to cook middle east style "koobideh" kebabs which is ground beef formed around flat skewers. The technique requires repeated and rapid turning of the skewers over a hot fire and my old welding gloves would get grease soak which of course soaks through the leather and burns. So I found out all these companies offer silicon. I have not had a chance to cook kebab due to the cold weather but trying these on it seems they will be too bulky to provide the dexterity needed to turn 1 inch wide flat skewers. I can imagine they will be helpful for handling some tasks around the grill i.e. picking up dropped pieces or moving the grill, handling the charcoal starter "chimney" etc. But for turning the skewers (they straddle across a small Weber To Go portable grill, ideal for kebab skewers) it is either bare hands or another type of glove.

Good gloves if used with caution

Pretty good oven mitts (gloves). They are very grippy and I love that they are easily washed. They have opened up lots of new possibilities such as directly handling hot potatoes to remove the skin, something I would never have done with my old cloth oven mitts. A quick scrub in the sink and they are good to go again.
My only complaint is that you can feel the heat if you do not hold the hold the hot item where the little nubs are. Generally, this is not a problem. However, from time to time, I grab an awkward item quickly such that the side of a finger is touching it and then things can get uncomfortable quickly. Never so hot that it has resulted in a burn however, just discomfort.
Definitely an upgrade from a cloth oven mitt, but not fool-proof. I would definitely purchase again.
