I discovered an easy way to test this lens

Works great, at first I didn't think it was doing anything and honestly I didn't know how I could confirm if it really worked or not, then I was shooting through my windshield in my truck, there were some papers on the dash which were reflecting on the inside of the windshield, it would have been visible in the shot, as I rotated the lens I noticed the reflection on the windshield vanished then reappeared as I continued rotating, that's when I could tell it really did work. It's a good lens at a bargain price. I am using this 55mm lens on my Panasonic FZ80 Lumix 4K Long Zoom Camera Panasonic FZ80 Lumix 4K Long Zoom Camera, 18.1 MP, F2.8-5.9, Power O.I.S with 3" LCD + Polaroid 64GB + Camera Bag + Tripod and DC-FZ80K Accessory Bundle
Good value filter for Very little money

This is a very basic polarizing filter. It seems at least as good as the budget line from brand name makers and marketers. It may have come from the same factory. It seems optically decent with good flat glass. The polarizing film is, however, a bit weaker than found on much pricier filters. That means that you might not see the full polarizing effect. Some will prefer that thinking that the full effect is harsh.
It came in a useful square box which will serve as a storage box when the filter is not in use.
CAUTION: The filter ring is very thick. It will almost certainly vignette on wide angle lenses!

why would anyone pay more for a product just for a name brand? I tried these some time ago and I haven't been able to find anything insufficient in them to require me to have to spend 50-60 or more dollars for the same thing I now have these in multiple sizes and extras just in case I break one... I would suggest you do the same and get the most for the money you work hard to get
AmazonBasic vs Altura Circular Polarizer Comparision
Lars Thomas✓ Verified Purchase•March 2, 2017
I bought both the AmazonBasics and Altura Circular Polarizer. Both are effective. I feel like the Amazon version threaded on to the lens easier. Possibly because the ring is considerable wider. There was no vignetting on a 24-105mm at 24mm with either filter. Attachment compares AmazonBasics, Altura and No Filter. Shot as Large Jpeg, no editing in post. To my eye, the Altura imparts a slight green tone.
I liked the packaging on the Amazon version - the case has indentations/rings to keep the filter from flopping around when in the bag. Between the Amazon and Altura, I would select the Amazon version.

This is Great!

I have a couple different sizes of these. There is a slight, emphasis on slight, color shift. Most won't be able to tell looking without comparing images taken with & without the polarizer. The increased color saturation and apparent contrast due to the polarization can improve many jpg's. Anyway, shooting RAW the color can be easily tweaked in post processing. I think the performance is stunning, and the price is excellent. These may actually have a bit better performance than my expensive B+W filters.AmazonBasics Circular Polarizer Lens - 72 mm
