Rugged with a swivel that utilizes multiple bearings and is easily lubricated. Swing is very smooth and did not even disturb that pallets of bee's we loaded a couple of weeks ago. We stuck a harbor freight ATV winch on it. Good buy for sure. 1000x better that the HB freight version.

Very nice for the price. Was looking at the 1/2 ton model from Harbor Freight. This one has twice the capacity for just a few bucks more, plus free 2-day shipping for Prime members. Installation was pretty straightforward. Definitely a good buy.
Very disappointed

I am pretty disappointed with this purchase. First, the box arrived damaged and ripped up. Many parts needed for assembly such as washers and bolts were missing. The unit appeared to be used because part of it was assembled. The bearing in the base unit was so filled with Grit and dirt it needed to be completely cleaned to be usable. There were no nuts/bolts for attaching the base to the bed of truck. I installed this onto the bed of a 2006 Nissan Frontier. It seems like the bed material is not strong enough to support much weight so even if I just pull down on the crane arm, the bed flexes which makes me nervous to even attempt to lift anything heavy. There was no mention of any of this in the descriptions. perhaps a strong steel backing plate attached to the underside of the bed would add support but not sure at all. In retrospect I think the hitch mounted crane is the way to go. I don't usually post reviews but in this case I am so unhappy with the purchase I wanted others to know these things.
