My intuitive impression based on the design, materials, feeling, and play in the joints is that these are budget hangers, and there are probably better ones that correspondingly cost more. Nevertheless, I put 8 of my electric guitars on there, including my best and the heavy les paul copy, and they have worked fine for about 2 months now and will probably be fine. Definitely not earthquake proof. Still a good value and I have no complaint after all.

I would not trust it to hold a guitar. A light ukulele maybe, that you don't mind if it falls. We returned it and got Hercules Stands Autogrip Universal Hanger, available at Amazon.
