I have a medical condition that requires I apply a medicated oil to my body daily. It was very inconvenient to find my husband every time to do my back so I found this device. As suggested by another reviewer, I have been using it without the pads. It does have a nice, light scrub feel and then I don't have to wash any pads. My only complaint and this is not really the devices fault, is that it doesn't rub the lotion/oil into my skin like hands can so I have to be careful not to apply too much at a time or it will get on my clothes. It is possible that using the pads would fix this issue.
