The name goes on before the quality goes in. I've purchased 15-20 for our clients to use in the field. My biggest complaint was that they are too fragile for normal use. The glass bulb breaks. I had one that didn't work at all right out of the box. Lastly the replacement probes are half the cost of a new one making the item disposable.

OKay..I gave the Ohaus ST20 a shot and it failed within three months. The electrode popped and it is now sitting beside the HMS junk.
This was handled with kid gloves but given some real daily use....and the electrode failed (which is about $45 to replace). But even when it was working the pen had some issues, the biggest of which the eternity it took to get a reading. Its SLOW (at best).
So no I would not recommedn this unit or any other similar designed unit where the OEM thinks its a good idea to sell a replacement electrode for almost as much as the original pen purchase.
NEWS FLASH TO ALL OEMS:
If you price your replacement electrodes as high as the pen nobody will trust the build quality of your product!
Make the replacement electrodes no more than 25% of the pen cost and you will have loyal customers! Otherwise you are one and done in customers eyes.
Ohaus has proven to be the same as all the other OEM's who make Ph pens: one and done pretenders.
Buy the cheap disposable pens and forget about OEM's like Ohaus and HMS..and even Hanna, Not worth the time and money.
