Very pleased with the excellent craftsmanship of this collar. My dog seems to be comfortable wearing it, and it looks so smart on him. I like the brass hardware and knowing it won't rust, and the loop on the back of the collar is a great design. I like having the lead and tag loops separate. I also like the double leather loops for putting the end of the collar through after you buckle it--no more curving, flappy end sticking out! And the scent from the leather is very mild and barely noticeable.
Update: He has worn it for a few months now, and I just really feel like it's too heavy. It's making a giant dent in his fur, and he just looks like slave labor dog to me, so I am buying him a nylon collar with a buckle. It won't look as nice, but at least he will be more comfortable.

Beautiful collar! I bought the medium it for my 70-ish pound 1 year old black & tan doberman, it looks really nice with his coloring and it's soft and flexible and very sturdy. Had it for about 2 months now and it still looks great even after all the dog parks/backyard digging/beach swimming/daycare. I also really like the ring on the back of this, makes it super easy to hook and unhook the leash when my hands are full or he's extra wiggly. I saw some reviews that it was irritating to the skin but we haven't had any problems. He's on the last hole so if he gets any bigger I'll come back for the large. Highly recommended!

When you order this collar, order some mink oil and rub the collar down to water proof it and cover up any scuffs or scratches.
When the collar arrive and we were adjusting it for our pup she scratched a few places. It wasn't very noticeable and after treating it with mink oil they disappeared. The collar design is genius. No more reaching under and fishing for the leash loop. I will order another as my dog grows.
*Mink oil may cause your collar to turn a bit darker. The first photo is before the oil and the second is when I first applied the oil. I let the collar cure overnight and it lighten up a bit.

I purchased this collar for my Doberman because he had outgrown his puppy collar, and I wanted something more substantial and still comfortable for him. Nylon and bling collars are not an option for this breed. The quality exceeded my expectations. The collar is true leather with sturdy hardware, and the stitching is solid. The construction and material is on par with the bridles and halters I used to show horses. It has features that are well thought out for dog downers, such as the leash lead on the top of the collar, which is sewn into the collar instead of attached to it. Also, there are two straps to hold down excess collar, and a separate ring on the bottom neck part of the collar for tags. And the padding makes it very comfortable for him. I highly recommend this collar, and this company.

I have an initial review on this collar, because I previously purchased it for my own dog. After experiencing the great quality of the first, I ordered a second as a gift to my Aunt, who also has a Doberman. Called the 'Dog Whisperer' in fun, she was also impressed with collar and appreciated the gift. Her collar has also held up to the test of an energized pup and time has revealed its' great quality.
Previous review: This collar is SO sturdy! I own a doberman and this collar is definitely an upgrade from the standard you find in most big box pet stores, and at a fraction of the price. I now have no fear when I walk my rambunctious pup of slippage or discomfort. Believe me, this upgrade was necessary! If you own a larger breed dog with super-dog strength, then invest in this collar, you will not be disappointed. The padding is for the dog's comfort and prevents the collar from cutting into his/her neck. It is fully adjustable and can be worn to fit snugly and comfortably. I love the material and the color actually has gotten darker with time, which goes very well with my Doberman's coloring. The packaging was great, shipping prompt and I would order again, as a matter fact I did order this again! I ordered a second collar for my Aunt who also recently purchased a Doberman. This an honest review for a product bought at full price with no incentive to review.
