I purchased this several months ago and never got around to utilizing this particular water valve. I had purchased a different brand along with the metal frame that came with it. This was the 55 mm one with the metal frame that I bought and that's the one I've been using for months because that's the water company that comes with this type of bottle with the big fat lip. Now I called upon a different water company and they have the screw-on lid with the screw thread bottle. Now this was the first time that I've ordered from this water and when I ordered this particular water valve from Amazon I knew that one day I may be ordering this water that day came last week. Now I attempted on many days and occasions for trying to screw it on it just one it's appears to be too small to shallow just doesn't even fit it it won't even make any attempt to fit on it or screw it on. I have made an attempt to look on Amazon right now and I don't see any other ones yet that may potentially work and I'm wanting one that will have the thread on to the bottle with the screw on thread type bottle. So my opinion this has failed miserably because now I have to take the bottle of water and tip it over near the sink just to fill up a cup of water or any container I want to put in the refrigerator and then water spills all over because that's just going to happen.

Quality. Works wonderfully. And you'll read reviews saying this nozzle leaks"”it's true. If you don't screw it on -just right- it will surrender a few drops a day from the side. If you very carefully thread it properly (it takes practice) you won't lose much water at all. It's not foolproof and it's annoying that you have to take extra care to seat it properly, but once you get the hang of it the leaking is negligible.

For long long term storage, I don't think I'd recommend this. I go through like 10 gallons of water a week and cycle 2 bottles out, so losing a few drops here and there isn't a big deal. But I wouldn't trust this nozzle to hold water for months on end. If you do high turnover water usage, this nozzle is perfect with some practice. If you're looking for a low turnover solution that's foolproof and won't leak at all, this isn't an ideal solution.

I might not be screwing it correctly, or it might not be for my 3 gallon water bottle but it is not sealing properly. I tried to test the valve by itself and it seems that is leaking too. Not with the same intensity but I suppose it is because of the water pressure. I hope it is not my fault for not doing something right, but it didn't work for me.

Hate the fact that it was the wrong item for me but I had to keep it because the shipping it back cost almost as much at the dispenser. Did not fit on my American Maid

This really a low tech bottle dispensing system that just works. Absolutely zero leaking. I put a drip tray below the valve and found this really to be unnecessary. I was going to order a crock but the wife wanted this one. I am glad we did.
