This is a nice little mounting - it doesn't grind into your shoulder, and it's surprisingly secure, and maintains the light's orientation pretty well. The mount is really what I was after in this purchase, as it's a rather unusual item to seek. The light I mounted on it (Not the one that came with) has to mount closer to the base, leaving it front-heavy in the mount, however this mount is still very good at keeping it directed in the right general direction.

The light itself is okay - it's a cheap flashlight that runs on a single AA. Brightness is okay. I like that it has a lens built for even, diffuse light, rather than a spot. It's made to evenly light a wide area, not put bright light on a spot, which is good for what it is. I base this part of the review on my observation of the construction and the ratings in the product description. I haven't used the light - I switched my own flashlight into the mount.

So, pros:

Easy to attach. Maintains its orientation fairly well. The light is built with a lens for diffuse light, good for walking.

Cons:

The included light is an inexpensive AA light, with relatively low brightness as flashlights go. The attachments are velco, which may weaken with time and not be amenable to constant repositioning and adjusting, or de/re-attaching.

This is a handy, versatile light that can be mounted to all kinds of things. It's small and compact, easy to toss in a purse or backpack and bring along just in case. It's a great hands-free alternative to headlamps to light your way when walking at night.
