Was looking for a simple, inexpensive solution to converting walk-in closet lights to motion activated. Ordered two. Although I wasn't happy with the wire gauge ( think low voltage instead of 110v.) I went ahead and installed. One didn't work out of the box. The other seemed OK. Ordered a replacement for the bad one, installed and operated OK. Three weeks later, one didn't turn off and the other continually trips the circuit breaker. Nope. Got that garbage out of there before I had a fire on my hands. Tried to save money and energy by clicking, but lost the gamble.

Installation and Appearance -- I used the sensor for the front garage and porch light because I like the lamp decor and would like to have dusk to dawn motioned lighting. The sensor is easy enough to install, at least the instruction was fairly straight forward. Although having a sensor on the side of a black porch lamp does seemed out of place.

Durability and Longevity -- It was originally bought on 10/15/2015. Recently (11/19/2017), it has been been staying on all night and not shutting off and is broken. I live in KS so the weather does get below freezing for the winter months and it has lasted around 2 years. I really hoped it would last at least 5 yrs. It lasted just as long as a regular LED bulb that I got at Costco which in recent month have been replaced once. The price I paid for this sensor was $13.99 which could have been cheaper and have seen it once on lightening deal at $9.99.

Conclusion -- For the same or lower price I can buy LED bulb with dusk to dawn motioned lighting for the ~$10 or less. The dusk to dawn motion LED bulb would be less obtrusive to the current decor, would probably last just as long as this sensor, and also less hassle to install.

This motion sensor was easy to install and appears to work well. A number of the reviews complained about the instructions for wiring this product. I found the diagram extremely easy to understand. A word of caution, however: if you do not know the difference between line and load, then you should not try to install this yourself. The rest of the instructions were written in poorly translated English - an artifact of Chinese manufacturing. Despite this, the instructions were understandable and useful. The sensitivity of motion is best side to side and poorest straight on. The adjustments for ambient light level and time work reasonably well. If you need a sensor that will detect motion and will then direct power to some device for a period up to about 10 minutes, this is the product. Bottom line, this isn't the highest quality unit, but for the price, it's hard to beat.

I've purchased a few of these and am back to purchase a few more to expand the lighting here. This is a must have for off-grid-ders. I'm getting old and the notion that if I might forget to turn off some lights that my entire energy supply could be drained (or worse) is not desirable. I've strategically placed the censors to my liking (took weeks actually, since I'm not always in the areas where they are placed. The LED strip lighting connects to the output and the input is connected directly to our battery bank (without a fuse works fine for me).

I hope when they come back in stock that they are identical as the last ones....working perfectly here and so cool (when I open the door to the 3-car garage a light comes on....and every step toward the other end of the garage opens another led strip light....they go off after sensing no motion for as many minutes as you allocate on the adjustable duration dial).
