Work great and have been helping me lose weight as now I can steam veggies, etc. with all of the suggested cooking times right on the bag so I don't overcook. Also great for fish and since you can re-use them (simply rinse after use), they work out to be quite inexpensive. They are PERFECT for steamed shrimp for parties - takes just a few minutes in the microwave and you can add seasoning (such as Scampi) right in the bag if you want.
It's NOT a hole, it's a VENT!!!

So, I read all the reviews before this purchase. A friend had given me some strawberries in a resealable microwave bag that had cooking times printed on it, and I loved using it so much that I tried to find more. I was not able to find the one she gave me on Amazon, so I decided to try these. I have them pretty strictly for vegetables. I have no desire to microwave meat! Anyway, so many of the reviews talk about how the side pops open. Mine did the same thing, then I realized: THAT'S a VENT, PEOPLE! It's supposed to be there, the bags are NOT defective! I have used the same one three times now, it steams just fine even with the vent. One of the bags, I was careless and accidentally pulled the ziplock thing off...my fault, not the manufacturer's. I am very satisfied with this purchase!

I have only used one microwave steamer bag one time, but they are a nice heavy weight and the plastic zipper is easy to open and close. I like the fact that they are a heavier plastic than the microwave steamer bags that I have tried from other companies. One set of 12 bags should last me quite awhile.
Love these bags so much that I give them to friends.

I absolutely love these bags! They are really roomy, with deep pleats at the bottom that allow it to stand up. It makes filling the bag so much easier. As long as you don't overstuff the bags, the food cooks evenly and perfectly. I like to go out to my garden and pick fresh herbs. I'll put them in the bag with potatoes and some uncooked fish fillets. I usually add a little butter or flavored oil, and some salt and pepper. The approximate times for certain foods are printed right on the bag. I use the time listed for the potatoes, pop it in the microwave, and it comes out perfectly cooked. I've cooked vegetable in the same bag too, and end up with a complete meal. I haven't tried beef or pork, but I've used chicken, fish, smoked sausage, shrimp, scallops. I make a nice sausage and bean dish. I even store the leftovers right in the bag, take it out of the fridge. and cook it for half the recommended time. I love the bags so much, that I buy them on Subscribe and Save. I even give them out to people to try.

Had my 1st opportunity to use these. Wow, how easy to use. In my case, cut broccoli off the stems, put in the bag with tablespoon of water, and 3 minutes later, perfectly cooked! Will definitely use these from now on.
