3 year old son loves it and has played with it every day since. The trains it comes with are very sturdy. There is one part that is not sturdy, the piece that let's cars through, the red bars easily come off and that is a little frustrating for a 3 year old, but other than that this set is perfect and it fits well with other sets :)
