The case is larger then I thought, but it really protects the hearing equipment. They work really well and my wife is very low volume when it comes to speaking, even out on the range. I can hear her giggling in between shots fired and then barely hear the 9 mm going off. I have not tried the plug in for ipods yet - I shot to get better, not to listen to music. The only thing I see going wrong is getting dirt in the zipper and it getting stuck or breaking, could be a more durable zipper and tab. Shooting at an indoor range is one thing, shooting in the brush in all kinds of weather is another. The item is so large it won't fit into my pistol bag so I had to hang it on the outside which took me a while to figure out how to hang it where it would not interfere with me walking and the swing of my leg.

I'm not sure if York Sales simply messed up and shipped me the wrong item or if the item I received is a "new design" and the Amazon photo/description hasn't been updated, but regardless the case I received was huge....not the small, compact design case shown and described in the photo. The case was so huge I could barely fit it inside my range bag. I could easily have fit two full earmuffs inside the case I was sent.

Moreover, the case lacked the mesh pocket as described in the product description and shown in the photo.

Have returned the product, and am now leery of re-ordering it since I'm unsure the reason the case was so vastly different than the one shown and described on Amazon.

Some might say this is a luxury and completely unnecessary and I guess in the world of cutting weight and necessities, this could totally make that list. However, I like to protect my investments (even for a 40$ pair of electronic earmuffs!). To me, the argument is like why buy firearm cases, you're only going to take them out to fire them, well why buy coats, why have a roof over your head. *smirk*
I for one have been tired of simply throwing my earmuffs in the bottom of my range bag, along with various tools & brass catchers full of brass, a brass pouch full of dirty brass only to end up with debris all over my earmuffs the next time I go to use them.
With the Caseling Hard Case, problem solved. It does take up a slightly larger foot print than without, but still fits perfectly in the bottom of my range satchel as well as the bottom of my large standard range bag from G.P.S. - mission accomplished.
Stitching is beautiful and zippers are secure and heavy duty, showing indications that this case is going to last for quite some time so I highly recommend it.

What can be said? The ear muffs fit nicely inside the case, the stiffened construction provides a good measure of protection for its contents, the materials appear to be of good quality and skillful construction which allows adequate room for expected accessories, the zipper appears to be of very good quality, and the item bears a cost reasonable in relation to the device it is designed to protect. All of that measures up to a score of 5 in my book, and I fully expect this case to extend the useful life of the electronic earmuffs cited in its title which I own.

This is a great case for my Howard Leight Impact electronic ear protection. The zippers seem to be very sturdy, with smooth tracks, for easy closure. I do like the inside pouch. Since the HL ear muffs require batteries, it a great place to store your backup batteries, just in case you need them while on the range. Obviously the case would not hold up to extreme weight, but I have dropped the case with my HL's stored in it, from about 15 ft, landing on a concrete surface, and was please to see that the case did exactly what it is designed for, which is protect. I highly recommend this case for protecting your HL ear muffs, and I am sure it can provide protection use in other applications as well.
