After installing this short and stubby antenna on my F150 I turned to my girlfriend and said "that's how it should have come from the factory," and she replied "Ya, cause its a white truck..."
Regardless, it fit great and looks good and while it might not be as receptive to females it still picks up my favorite radio stations. Buy with confidence!

I purchased the Stubby first but it was terrible at pulling in the radio stations I was listening to with the factory antenna. I read the feedback on the Original and decided to give it a try. It was a little over 10 bucks more and only 3 inches bigger than the Stubby, but it's well worth it! This antenna works just as well as the factory antenna. Only wish I saw this before I decided on the Stubby...sorry Stubbs. Also, in the product description the company says it can stand up to a car wash but in some of their response's to feedback I read about broken antennas due to car washes, they really recommend that you remove it before a wash. I would heed that advice, and besides, it's a piece of cake to install and remove. But they really should remove that statement from their product description.

While there is a decent size treaded screw that holds the antenna to the vehicle, there is only a small gauge connection from the antenna itself to the threaded adapter that attaches it to the vehicle. If you have to remove this antenna often to go through a car wash, it will not hold up. Eventually that small connection will snap off. Try any other brand.

Amazon appears to do a poor job do separating reviews for these various length and model antennas. Review is specific to the 6 3/4 " . No problem with fit or finish. No wind noise. Usually traveling 20-30 mile radius metro Nashville. No issues with major FM stations. Loss of signal for previous marginal stations in towns over 40-50 miles away. Most people would not care. AM reception is clearly decreased...the big powerful stations come in, but weaker stations are limited. Not sure how it will work out on the interstate between cities, but works perfectly well in metro area for routine FM reception if you want to replace the OEM length.

I loved this antenna initially, as it is such a more low-profile solution that does not flap in the breeze. However, it didn't hold up after a few car washes. My own fault.
