Perfect bag for MacBook Pro 12"
Geek Girl✓ Verified PurchaseMarch 4, 2018
I am really enjoying this sling bag. I needed something to carry my MacBook Pro and iPad Pro and chargers for school. Since most textbooks are offered digitally now I am able to store all my books on my iPad Pro so there's no need to have a huge backpack to carry books anymore. I wanted a bag that could be worn on my back but was only as big as my MacBook Pro to keep it light and small. This bag is the perfect for that. The large bag fits my MacBook Pro 12" perfectly, even while in my Twelve South leather BookBook case. There's plenty of room for everything else I carry with me, including everything I usually carry in my purse, all in a much smaller package than the typical backpack I'm used to carrying.

It looks and feels well made. I can't speak to how well it lasts over time but it's not advertised as being heavy duty so I probably wouldn't load it up with a bunch of heavy stuff (textbooks, for example). It's line inside, which I love. So many bags these days don't even bother at this price point so that's really nice to see. It also has just enough pockets inside for the things I always carry. The two main pockets are the perfect size for my iPhone X and my external Anker battery. It's truly perfect in every way.

My only gripe is that it seems made for taller/bigger people on average. When the strap is cinched all the way down, its still too big for my small frame. I'm 5'6" so not short by any means, but on the smallest setting the bag still hangs so low that its constantly bumping me in the rear. It's a minor annoyance for such a great bag and I'm not doing any major walking with it as I use it for school exclusively. Just keep this in mind if you are a smaller framed female and you're planning to use it as a day pack or while traveling.
A shocking amount of space

My journey started mid-flight on the way home from a business trip, frustrated with a leather bag similar to this one in size. It started falling apart after minimal use, after a year and a half. Not only that, it was a struggle fitting my iPad Pro (original 12"x9" big one) in and having any room left over. I then spent about a day reviewing other options including other leather bags, backpacks, and this style. After reading the reviews for this one and another bag, I decided to go for this Leaper bag in blue.

As I took it out of its plastic bag, I was immediately concerned because it looked so small. How could this fit my giant iPad Pro and all my other junk, while leaving enough room for a few other things picked up on long trips. How about holding my iPad Pro, accessories, and my Canon 70D DSLR along with maybe another lens? How could a bag so small carry so much? My older bag couldn't do that, so how could one that is even smaller pull this off?

Well, it did. I'm so impressed with this bag. It's got compartments to spare, is well made, and for $32 you can't beat it. I love how the side compartment will fold up to be flat when you aren't carrying much, and then widen to carry larger items like a DSLR without any complaints. In fact, I loaded this guy up with my iPad, a Canon 70D, an extra lens, and STILL had a lot of compartment space remaining. Absolutely unbelievable.

For a business entrepreneur that's on the go, requiring computing and camera gear in the smallest package possible, this bag delivered.

My only complaint is with the color pictured in the Amazon photos. The actual blue bag I received was a very dark blue. It's not that light denim looking blue color pictured here.
Stylish and functional? My favorite bag!

I bought this for ME because I think it's a great unisex look. I got the large-sized bag because I needed a bottle mesh. I can fit my Surface Pro inside with plenty of room to spare, and it's my favorite bag I've ever owned. Almost want to buy a spare just in case... I took it with me to New Zealand, and it was the perfect size for a day bag. I have bony shoulders, so most backpacks with thin straps cut painfully into my shoulder and neck. The broad and cushioned strap spread out the pressure points and felt good even after an entire day of walking. It's very easy to sling the bag on and off, or swing it to the front when I need to grab something real quick. And the number of pockets are amazing! I was able to keep my tickets, cash, journal, etc all separated. The handle at the top was great for carrying it around too. I wore it around in the rain, and even though it's not waterproof, none of my belongings ever got soaked. I'm about to bring it with me to Scotland, so we'll see how it holds up on another international trip and more rain/snow!

The only downsides are that sometimes the small of my back got hot and sweaty when using this bag, but it's no biggie. And I still haven't found a use for that snap-closure on the side...it's awkward to open/close, and nothing really fits there. The flap on that snap pocket is bent up at an awkward shape, and I haven't been able to get it to lie flat. Also I would have liked the inner cellphone pockets to be deeper or narrower; my phone slid out a few times when the bag tipped over. Also there are two phone pockets inside, but switching one of them out for wallet-style card slots would make more sense...but again, not a deal breaker. The black bag is not really black, but more of a bluish-gray (which I prefer).
Great!

Purchased this because my previous backpack wasn't working out anymore. I found myself needing to carry more things than what it could hold. So I needed something bigger; more spacious. This new backpack was exactly what I needed!

I purchased the Large not just for more space, but also for the water bottle pocket. & I could use the other side pocket for an umbrella if needed (as shown in the image I've provided).

This is a great looking spacious backpack with many pockets. There's a total of 9 pockets with the Large; 8 with the Medium (Medium doesn't have the water bottle pocket). The flap & side pocket are the only two that are magnetic, & they're strong magnets.

This is a great backpack, overall. Definitely better than my previous one. This is now my everyday backpack.
Good For Musicians, Suggestions for Improvements

3 1/2 stars.

I use this to help tote the items that don't fit in my guitar case. My guitar case doesn't have a pocket large enough to carry my sheet music notebooks. Note to case manufacturers... All musicians carry sheet music and music books! This bag is just large enough for my sheet music binders and just enough accessory pockets for other items such as metronome, capo, strings, and whatever other odds and ends. I carry a nail repair kit, a blue tooth speaker, an iPhone goose neck holder (to record my lessons), wallet, car keys, phone, and a few other items with some room to spare. Carrying a separate bag with your essentials can be a time saver if you happen to own several guitars and transport them at different times. Don't know how many times I forgot an item cause it was left in my other case.

So far the bag seems sturdy and is fairly comfortable, though time will tell. There are a few things I wish were added into this bag that would really improve the usefulness. Pen/Pencil holders for starters! A mesh side pocket that was actually large enough to hold a water bottle. You'd have to stretch the limits of the stitching to even put a soda can in there. I wanted to put my UE Boom in it but it's extremely too tight. Maybe just a little more interior room as some of my notebook corners have to be tucked in. Cinching strips where it counts. Cinching strips on the side of the bag would be way more useful as opposed to the cinch straps at the bottom and top of the bag.
