These come with live insect larvae which hatch after you get the mushrooms

We used these a couple times after getting them. Next time I opened it, with 80% remaining, I noticed tiny insects crawling all over the mushrooms. I emptied a few out onto a sheet of copy paper to see, and instantly I had a couple hundred of the little bugs swarming all over. I quickly wrapped up the copy paper around the mushrooms and bugs and stuffed it back in the canister and screwed the lid on TIGHT and threw it into the trash outside.
I have purchased and used dried mushrooms for 20 years and have stored them easily. This never happens. I screw lids on tight. I have never seen these varmints anywhere in the kitchen. They rode in as larvae in the mushrooms. YECH.

Great porcini taste that I always have on hand. I like to grind them in my spice mill into a powder which I use to thicken stews and sauces. It raises the flavor to a new level. I highly recommend these dried mushrooms
