MADE IN USA, AND IS EXCELLENT DESIGN, AND QUALITY!!!!! I WAS PUT OFF BY THE RIDICULOUS BULKY CASE, BUT HAVE TAKEN THE SHARPENER APART EASILY, AND STORED IT IN MY LARGE SUMA CONTAINER FOR BOB. ADDITIONALLY, I BOUGHT SEVERAL STONES, AND FILLED ANOTHER SUMA. YEA GOT SOME WEIGHT FOR BOB, BUT IF KNIFE IS NUMBER ONE SURVIVAL TOOL, THAN SHARPER IS CRITICAL. I GAVE THE CASE AWAY, BUT THIS SHARPENING SYSTEM IS THE BEST, FOR QUALITY, AND PORTABILITY.

This system really is amazing it can get you the egdes you want. I know it seems like a lot to spend on a knife sharpening kit but in the big scheme of things that's nothing. This system has all the same quality and performance as the wicked edge and even better than the edge pro apex. But at a third of the price as the wicked edge and a hundred bucks less then the edge pro. I decided to get a couple extras like the 50 grit beast stone and the kangaroo leather strop with 4 micron emulsion. And man does this system get all that stuff you want and more. You can get pretty damn close to a mirror edge with just that. But if you really want to bring your edges to an insanely high level. Try the lapping films that's the great thing about this system is there's soooo many accessories for it. It's up to you how far you want to go. But for 95% of people who just want to keep their blades sharp this system might be a little much. This is for serious knife guys or gals who want to bring their edges to the next level. You don't need to get all the extras to have a phenomenal system but it sure doesn't hurt. This basic kit with the 4 stones will get you where you need to go. And if later on you want to get those insanely sharp mirror edges you have that option. Hope this helps I would strongly recommend this to any serious knife guy or gal. It's a must have and look at it this way once you get good enough at it you can start charging people to sharpen their knives for them and eventually you will be making money off the system.

I have been a knife nut for years and have used, abused and collected many brands of knives. I am particularly very fond of EDC folding knives built for heavy use.

Being a knife user, I have also used a number of sharpening systems and methods. This system just plain works. My edges are as sharp as ever and last due to the polish I am able to achieve at an amazingly consistent angle. The clamp does a pretty good job of self centering and just a little attentention results in easy repeatability. The diamonds work and work without effort. I did add a 3000 grit ceramic and a set of 4 strops with sprays. The whole setup fits nicely in the case and stores very conveniently.

As some have said the post does like to come loose from the base and unscrew. I added an oring and no more looseningðŸ‘ðŸ»

This is the Cadillac of Lansky-Style systems. I definitely recommend it.

Have been using this sharpening system now for 6 months and am very pleased. Repeatable blade angle index as well as good assortment of stone grains. Have sharpened every knife in the house and got a great result on blades from 1"-10" all with varying blade thickness. Would buy again, but it seems like it is built to last.
