I have recorded this many times and just received a new shipment yesterday. I use them for my fast and keto and test results of strips is consistent with previous log notes from earlier fasts.
Perfect!

Insurance won’t cover them for my diabetic kid

Great for keeping track of current ketones (the urine strips are behind by around 2 hours). We use them for my type 1 diabetic kid, whenever she's sick or we're struggling with resistant high blood sugars. They take more blood than typical glucose test strips, so you have to make sure to get a good poke; other than that they are easy to use and seem to be accurate.

Unfortunately we haven't found an insurance that will cover these, maybe because there's a misconception that anyone who wants them is just tracking ketones for their diet; so the price stings a little, especially since we use them so infrequently. I'd definitely say they're worth picking up if you're trying to manage type 1, as knowing current ketone level is super important, DKA can come on fast.
