I absolutely love these!!! I'm a landscape maintenance pro and these I used to cut back ornamental grasses (so far) and they made the work a breeze. I've used electric hedge trimmers in the past but couldn't get a clean smooth cut. I've used small single hand trimmers but they take way too long. These are great and the trick is to get at the cutting level, slide the shears in to cut a single smooth cut, don't try to take off too much at once! Then simply slide over to your next cut. Do not chop!!! Let the tool do the work and it's easy-peasy! Just slow and steady and the result is fantastic. I wish I had bought these years ago. If you are on the fence and do this work for a living, buy these and you will be much more efficient with a superior quality of work, and will spend a heck of a lot less time doing the work.

Hands down, the best tool I've bought for myself in EONS!
I'd been getting by with ancient, dull loppers - I don't even know from whence they came - and one day I said to myself, "just buy yourself a decent pair of loppers". These had the best reviews, and for good reason. Firstly, the blades are sharp. I'm not used to that. Also, a long slim blade which cuts a lot at once. They aren't too heavy, easy enough for me and I'm a 67 yr. old female. The best thing about them though (besides the fact that they chop thru a lot of stuff easily) is the ease of lengthening the handles. Whoever designed these did it soooo right. You just grip the handle ends, turn outward and it telescopes. Then, you turn turn inwards and it smoothly locks into place. Smooth, easy, NO frustration. It didn't even come with instructions (no need) because it's so flawlessly designed. My only problem is the urge to turn into Edward Scissorhands with these and over prune all my shrubbery. It makes pruning fun and satisfying again.

Love love love these shears. I've only had them for a couple of weeks but I already know these are for the long term.
The blades are sharp and cut nicely. The blade length is slightly longer that my previous shears and so is taking some time to get used to.
The handle length is adjustable making cutting lower limbs of my boxwood hedge much easier since I don't have to bend down as much. The adjustable handles also make trimming the hedge easier on top as you can see down them better when trying to figure out if the hedge is horizontally straight or not. The knob to adjust the shears is easy and has a click stop so you know how much you have adjusted them. Turn once or twice and they tighten up nicely.
These are expensive but highly recommended

If you have serious hedges to clip, buy these. I've been clipping hedges for years with assorted manual and electric clippers. On very soft-wood hedges. anything will work. On most hedges modest-priced electric clippers, at best, leave rough cuts not good for the hedges' health. Most manual clippers do a better job but are a lot of work. These clippers almost make hedge clipping fun. I never knew hedge clippers could be this good.They clip through anything but thick limbs precisely and easily. They'd be wonderful even without the extendable handles, but those save me an armful of scratches on my sharp-leaved hedges. Paying a little more doesn't always provide better quality, but in this case it's a super bargain..

I purchased these based on people's reviews. They work, but was hoping it would be a better tool than my 20+ year old Sears shears with wooden handles. But the blades are shorter, seemingly not as sharp & equal in weight so not very impressed. My old Sears ones have never been sharpened, but seem to cut a little better than these - possibly because the Sears blades are about 2 inches longer. These look like they will last a while which is good considering the lowered workmanship in most tools today, so will keep them as back up.
