The idea has merit, but the execution is flawed.

2 stars for execution and 3 for the idea. - This is my second one of these. I use this strapped to my desk arm and the straps are too short to fit around the chair's arm rest. I improvised a solution to this and the device helps with shoulder pain since the rest does keep my shoulder in a neutral position. The other problem is that this is not made to last. The wrist rest deteriorates over time and small pieces of the foam start shedding. And since the strapping to the arm is not super fixed (there is some wiggle) I suspect that the plastic holding the straps to the rest will break off (which is what happened to my first one of these.

It does what it says, and for the price, cant complain. I put it on my chair arm and its wwwaaayy better than having my mouse on my desk. Only down fall is the Velcro to secure it to arm rest is kinda short. had to put two together to fit the back part of my rest.
Pass on this. Failed after a year.

allow it to swivel. These tabs held out for one year and 11 days.
Now I have a piece of trash. I wondered about the longevity
of this item before I purchased it, but figured I would give it a try.
There are several different brands of this type item on Amazon
and I would bet that they are all made the same way and will
eventually be prone to fail in the same way.

This has been a real arm-saver. I spend many hours a day on my computer, to the point I had to periodically switch hands to avoid permanent problems. This device is easy to mount, stays in place nicely, yet allows a little sideways turning if you want to change the angle to the desk. Doesn't mark the desk. The only thing I didn't like was the minimal cushioning where my elbow rests. That was easily fixed by wrapping some soft material around that entire section.

I do believe it will work well for keeping arm elevated like I need. I was a little disappointed when it arrived, although on time, the box was open and the desk attaching piece nearly falling out. It is plastic and a bit flimsy. Luckily I am not a large person so the weight of my arm shouldn't hurt it, but I imagine a person with a heavy arm would not like this, as it bows under my weight. The wrist pad is very soft, sort of jelly like, very comfy. The mousepad works well. The elbow rest is smooth and silky, just a bit on the hard side. I have attached it to the desk, more sturdy that way. The arm chair straps are on the underside of the elbow pad and I doubt it would strap properly with thicker chairs.
