Water Leaking at the Bottom Seam
Chicagoland✓ Verified Purchase•January 18, 2017
A very classy looking, well designed kettle. Just used it to make hand drip coffee this morning for the first time, and its design allowed me to control the amount of water flow as I was pouring it over coffee ground in my new Hario dripper. Purchased at a sale price which was very competitive - others were over $30, some $40, but got this for $25, and it is just as good.
Edit: I have used this kettle for a week now. It's a good quality kettle. I wish the goose neck opening was smaller so that I could pour a bit slower, but this is still not a big issue.
Product 2 month Update: I gave 5 stars initially, but just changed it to 1 star. Water leaks from the bottom seam. It seems either it is not properly welded or it is a design flaw. It's disappointing. I've never seen in my life a metal kettle that leaks. I think the unit came with the problem because I remember seeing small water leakage at the bottom of the kettle from the beginning. I thought it was a spill from a cup near by or I spilled while pouring water from the kettle. After checking it several days in a row with dry napkins on the bottom and kettle filled with water, I found the napkin wet after just a few hours.

I am terribly disappointed at this product

I am terribly disappointed at this product. It failed after only 20 uses. The handle between the metal and the black handle fell off all of a sudden. I tried looking for warranty information, how to contact the seller, and I can't even locate that when in fact this should be 100% satisfaction guaranteed. I paid more than what is currently advertised and am very upset about this.
I can only say this product is awfully made. It looks good, but very flimsy. I can't believe it fell apart so quickly. AWFUL!!!

The kettle looks nice. However

The kettle looks nice. However, the first one we had leaked on the bottom of the kettle. I then got a replacement kettle and the same thing happened. The bottom of the kettle isn't secured well so the water leaks out. If you leave water in the kettle on the stove the water will leak out.
Poor quality, not worth the price

After only one day of use, rust started appearing on the inside, and a white-ish crust leaked out of the bottom rim on the exterior. When I emailed the company about this, I was told that this was just something that happens with some of their kettles. I was able to clean off the crusty material, and no more has appeared yet, but for the money I paid, this is not good enough. I don't know if the condition (particularly the rust on the inside) will worsen with time, and reviews from other customers whose kettles leaked after a time are also concerning. The lid is also shaped slightly crookedly. I own another pour over kettle from a different company that, after almost a year of regular use, has exhibited none of these problems. I would not recommend this kettle. For similar prices, I think you can find much higher quality products. I would not purchase from this company again. 2 stars because it still manages to boil water.
A Metallurgical Look at an Exceptionally Poor Product. Too Bad.

I purchased this as a christmas gift for my mother. It showed up on time, in well designed packaging and I was sure it would be great. She opened it, used it with her drip setup, and let it dry afterward. By the third day of once-a-day use exactly as described above, she began to notice a small ring of corrosion around the outside lip at the base. Upon further inspection, the entire rim around the inside was showing signs of rust. Within the first week. Seriously.
This kettle is described as "brushed stainless steel" but it is readily showing signs of corrosion. It is also magnetic implying that it is a ferritic stainless or not stainless at all (my guess). Perhaps they should use an austenitic stainless for improved corrosion resistance and a product that fulfills the basic task it was intended to for longer than one week after it's arrival.
For your viewing pleasure and as evidence for my claims, some pictures are included.
