It works fine. Those who complain are most likely inexperienced and are using too little water and too much pressure. Give it time. I have mine mounted in a tripod drill press and put a bit of pressure on it but mostly just let the weight of the machine do the work. I have a ring around it (that I made of clay) and keep a few ounces of water in it.

This drill bit took care of the tile drilling I needed to complete. Obviously designed for a drill press but, a simple rotation of a regular drill got the hole started. Would be nice to see a version with a drill bit in the middle to start things off real easily.

I use this to make booze bottle lamps, and it is sooooooo much easier than the one I was using before. Makes a nice size hole for the power cord to come though.

In order to install a soap dispenser in our 1" thick granite, I purchased the Drilax 1" diamond drill (core) bit. The price, including shipping, was much lower than any of the local stores.
The bit arrived promptly and , using a 1" guide block, the bit made short work of it and left a very smooth 1" diameter hole.
I would definitely recommend Drilax.
