Let me start by saying that the "Skallops" are great. They are nothing like fish, but a chewy, neutral-flavored, low calorie, non-brown protein substitute. They come in 'strips,' but you can chop them into chunks or even mince. I love them!
Which is why I've been buying them from Amazon long enough to see them climb from $.28 per ounce in April, 2021 to the current .40 or so per ounce today, a bit more than 2 years later. Loma Linda has tried to hide this by changing the can size from 20 ounces to 15 ounces--no one likes that kind of deception. (Although the 25% drop in contents has only meant a 10% drop in calories--go figure!!)
I'm sure they've had increased costs for ingredients and shipping, but the price increase is like 35% inflation. That seemslike price gouging!
