This is my first electronic Indian instrument. I was originally looking for just a Tanpura (NOT a shruti box) but found this model that is both a Tanbura and Tablas! It sounds great and has many options. I may use this to help tune my "real" tanpura, too.

While the product itself( figure 1) performs well; there are other peripheral issues of concern. Packaging was very weak resulted in corner bending & damage to a plug adapter( figure 2). Remedy: Double boxing; i.e. box inside box. inner box should contain bubble wrap around the drone box. Outer box should contain Styriform shielding. FEDEX logistics was good; but what good it is if the packaging was poor. They should think that the Amazon prime customer has paid premium price for the product plus shipping charges & the product travels 1000s of miles to reach the customer.. No value for the money!!! The other issue is their plug and plug adapter. Fortunately I had an adapter that I bought in Hong Kong (figure 3) that solved the problem. They should supply this adapter & not their flimsy loose one. Battery issue is terrible. Inserting the battery was a nightmare due to poor design ( figure 4). Batteries got popping up. I Used a flat head screw driver to solve the problem It should be an easy insert & this product doesn't have that.
