OK. The bearings seem kinda gimmicky, since the rings always seem to flip upside-down (probably because the top part with the ball bearings is so much heavier than the bottom part) and they glide on the small part of the ring, rather than staying right-side-up and 'rolling' on the ball bearings, like the picture would suggest. Then the shower curtain kinda sits funny on the bearings.

I love these gold shower rings! And it's very stylish to mix gold with other metals, if you're concerned about such matters, which I am. I've had mine up for a couple of weeks - they work marvelously. They look great, as well they are well made. I don't get some of the complaints, so I will address a few of them. Because people like to complain about everything. Scratching - metal on metal scratches, all you need to do is hold each end between your fingers, protecting your rod. I have a satin nickel rod - I managed very well. They are too stiff - well if the weren't stiff you'd complain the were flimsy. They are sturdy, stiff, maintain their shape despite having to be pulled apart to install. I managed to put them on with minimal effort. They aren't big enough - my rod is 2 & 3/4" in diameter, they fit perfectly. They are super shiny, the gold color is just like 14K, & they are so stylish, good quality, work perfectly. What more can you ask for?

Our older decorative shower hooks had become increasingly rusty, and sliding back the shower curtain became more and more difficult, accompanied by some unpleasant screeching. So I used CLR to remove the rust off of the rods and bought these rustproof shower hooks. While these are not the most decorative/jazzy looking, they are extremely functional and the ball bearings where the hook meets the rod are absolutely terrific. The shower curtains open like a dream. I've put them in the three bathrooms that have tubs. Highly recommend!

Happy to find these new shower curtain hooks to replace my aging (and beginning to rust) old curtain hooks. The fact that these Amazer hooks have rollers on top was a very attractive feature for me. The curtain slides smoothly across the curtain rod quickly, quietly when opened and closed. I also was very happy to see that the rollers come in colors, and light blue perfectly my bathroom decor. They are advertised as stainless steel hooks with plastic rollers secured on top. The price was amazing, very affordable and much less than other comparable hooks.
