I will first give the reason why I took off a star. It is made in Vietnam and not at the Wilson glove manufacturing facility in Japan. My other Wilson A2000 glove is still going strong even though it is 28 years old. It was made at the Japan facility, which is what I was hoping for this glove. Also, I wish it came with a glove bag.
Now the good:
1. It is well made. The padding feels great and the glove is breaking in nicely.
2. It looks fantastic. I've been a Houston Astros fan my entire life and this glove matches their colors perfectly. It is black leather, with a bright orange webbing, and navy blue laces.
3. It is a double break glove. I like the feel of this and helps with catching softballs.
4. I'm left handed. For some reason, the left handed version (catching with the right hand) was cheaper than the normal one. This sealed the deal on the purchase.
I would recommend this glove for anyone looking for a well made, great looking first basemen's mitt.
