Works beautifully! Changed my life.

My 2 year old was climbing out of her crib and getting into all kinds of mischief. She was having so much fun doing it that all through the day she would sneak off to get into things when my back was turned. I was seriously considering tying her to me with a rope. In desperation I searched Amazon just hoping there was a new innovation for keeping doors closed against toddlers. I found this and it is brilliant!! You really can open the door from either side, so easily-- I was dubious about this, but it's true. The product at first seemed flimsy, like if my girl got frustrated and pulled really hard the plastic would snap, but after installing and seeing how they work, it's obvious they are very sturdy. I got 6 of these and they're worth every penny.
Locks/unlocks from either side. Up and out of the way.

All my 13-year-old son asked for on his birthday was a lock on his door to keep his 3-year-old sister out. We wanted something that could be locked from either side; he wanted it secured when he went in or came out of his room. This was the perfect answer. It's sturdy enough to prevent the door from being opened by our little one, but some parts are made of plastic, so it'd probably break if an adult forcefully tried to push the door in. It's up and out of the way. It blends in well enough with the door and frame that, if you didn't know it was there, you probably wouldn't even notice it. The handle is short enough that it doesn't get in the way, but long enough that it's easily reachable by our son and other adults in the house.
Yes! Yes! Finally at last!

Amazing product! I would kiss the inventor of this invention if I could. Installation is easy & fast. We're relieved that our 16 mo old rambunctious son can not open our closet under the stairs anymore and ransack our closet. My husband and I have gained back control!! Moms of toddlers this is a lifesaver! Don't hesitate and buy this now!
Simple, inexpensive and quick way to block a door from either side without installing expensive locks or bolts

Simple idea and quick install. This is the only thing I found on the internet for blocking a door from either side without installing locks, etc. All we needed was a simple and inexpensive device to keep a 3 year old from going into an older sibling's bedroom, if the sibling was home or not.
It took me less than 2 minutes to place the U shaped slider on top of the door, mark with the pencil and screw in the "locking" pin into the door frame. The sliding part needs to be mounted about 6 inches away from the edge of the door or it might not slide easily enough. The plastic hanging rods are used to pull the lock slider back and forth and aren't very thick or solid but will do if the sliding part moves easily enough. I rubbed some candle wax on the top of the door since it was a little rough around the edges and this made it slide better. You could also sand the door edges down but wax was easier and less messy.

Did not read full product info when I ordered it so I didn't realize the screw goes into the door frame which puts does not stick out enough to be screwed into. Seems like a good product. Aside from that it came in horrible almost non existent packaging.
