Marshmallows were old and nonedible. The expiration date was a week out and the mellows were yellowed and sticky. We were using them as a layer in a hot chocolate mix gift set for co-workers and the mellows needed to be pulled out of the bag and torn apart to be separated so we were unable to use them.
Stuck together

I bought the marshmallows as ammo for the toy marshmallow guns. They were all stuck together. OK for Rice Krispie treats, but not for their intended use.
