Our dog hates thunderstorms and fireworks especially. Every year he is a shaking mess in July and of course our neighbors make it a week long affair. I ordered this for him just in time to come in for the 4th and he literally laid down and went right to sleep with it on. I tried an ace bandage wrap on his body last year and it didn't do anything so I was skeptical. But I'm glad I decided to try it out anyway, he had no problems this year.

For sizing, his neck is about 21 inches, so I ordered this in a medium (he's a fat shih tzu, about 25lbs) and it fit great in the neck, but it fit just barely around the stomach. So if your dog has a pretty big belly, then you might want to go a size up. I included a picture, can't figure out how to rotate it on this device, but you get the idea

My 5 year old border collie becomes very distressed during the 4th of July when neighbors are setting off fireworks. She runs around the house, whines, and pants heavily. About a month ago I bought this calming coat. It put it on her a couple of times to get her used to it and to check the fit. Tonight (July 1st) there were a lot of fireworks going off in my neighborhood. At the first sign that my girl was becoming upset, I put the coat on her. She has now had it on for about 20 minutes and is super calm. My son even took her outside for a few minutes. This coat is just what she needed. I am very pleased that my dog is not upset. I will update my post in the next couple days.

I'm not sure how well this is calming Sebastian, my 85 pound scaredy cat Labrador Retriever. He sounds vicious when he barks but it literally scares the poop out of him if anyone approaches him or talks to him except for my wife and I. I take him for a daily walk but by the time we get three quarters of the way, he is a nervous wreck trying desperately to get back home. I want him to get out and get some exercise but I feel like I am punishing him at the same time because he is so upset by the time we get home.

This isn't hard to get on and off but I don't like that the material is so stretchy. It is basically t-shirt material. It wouldn't matter if it did what I got it for but I haven't noticed any difference in his anxiety level in the past week since I have been using it.

I was skeptical, how in the world is a piece of cloth wrapped around my dog going to help? I still don't know how, but it definitely does work! My Golden Retriever became scared of thunder in his old age, he started pacing and panting constantly during thunderstorms, and tried to wedge himself under the bed. A friend of mine said this worked great for her beagle so I thought I'd give it a try since the price was right. With the first use my dog stopped pacing and panting. He even went outside in the yard (in a thunderstorm!) to do his business--I was shocked! He now starts to wag his tail when I pull this out of the closet to put it on him, he loves it! My only complaint/suggestion is make sure you measure your dog first--this is almost too small for him despite carefully measuring. I secure the two straps with the minimal amount of velcro possible to ensure it is long enough to wrap around him. The problem is, the exposed velcro is now completely covered with his long, fine hair and it's impossible to get out. Not a huge deal since there is still enough useable velcro to keep it in place. Also you have to leave the neck strap quite loose for them to be able to lay their head down. When I first put it on him I made sure it was tight, but noticed when he laid down he wouldn't lay his head down--he tried but kept lifting it back up and it finally occurred to me that the neck strap was too tight. Once I loosened it a bit he was good to go! All in all this is a great product, I would highly recommend for anxious pups!!

Wow!!! i had heard these helped with loud noises, thunder storms etc. My lab mix, maxx, 13yrs, had become nervous, stressed, would not leave my side. i had lost my happy, jumpy always ready for an outside activity pup. His back legs are getting wobbly, and the vet stated this was normal in older dogs. I was devastated. i looked online for anything that might help my pup. i came across the body wrap and how it helps calm your dog. OMG!! after the 2nd day of wearing it, my Maxie is back!! he's alert, ready for outside, just amazing!!! what a change!!!! thank you so much for giving my pup back!!!!
