Great value camera.
Colonel•December 12, 2017
Very good value. It performs as well as one I received from a security company at about 1/3 the price. I liked it so well I purchased additional ones in addition to their dome camera. It is an analog over coax, but it is 1080p with great resolution. It appears to be of solid construction.
The camera images look nice, but where Is Quality Control?

Update 10-13-17:
After weeks of troubleshooting, I finally figured out why I was getting no Night Vision on (3) of the (8) Cameras I purchased.
These cameras were approximately 200' from the DVR. Although the Amcrest spec says they are good for 984', this is very misleading.
I ended up having to run 110v AC power out to the camera locations, moving the 12v power supplies close enough to plug them in at the cameras. Finally, the Night Vision works. But now I have to bury AC cable in a conduit underground. And then install an outdoor plugin on the pole where they're located.
What a huge pain. Amcrest replaced the cameras 3 times, but no one there has a clue that a 12v Power drop could have been the problem.
If I hadn't run over 1000' of cable to 8 different cameras, I'd return the entire system.
What.

Nightmare.
I ordered (8) of these cameras and a DVR in mid August 2017. It is now the end of September 2017, and as I write this review, I STILL DO NOT HAVE 100% FUNCTIONAL CAMERAS. The Night Vision on (5) of these cameras works ok. There are (3) that do not work correctly. I have returned them twice so far, and the replacement cameras had the same issues as the first. So far, I am very disappointed with these cameras and the company who sells them. Talking to support is difficult and time consuming. Installing, removing, reinstalling, removing again, reinstalling again only to have the same exact problem is very frustrating. And that is being polite. Amcrest quality control should better test their products before shipping to end users. And that's just the cameras. The DVR fan runs 24 hours a day. Their customer support offered up a fix, and it did absolutely nothing to correct this issue either. The fan still runs...all the time.

Seems to be a great camera at reasonable price. 1080p is NICE!
Steve R.•May 8, 2017
Only time will tell how long these cameras will last, but the image quality is great. Daytime images are colorful and very crisp. The nightvision is so-so. The 1080p camera has a different arrangement of LEDs compared to the 720p cameras I have. There is a huge washed out hot spot of infrared light in the middle of the image at night. The 720p cameras seem to have much better diffusion of infrared light.
But 1080p - Wow! What a huge huge huge difference in clarity over the old analog cameras I upgraded from.
The 720p cameras are nice, but 1080p is worth the extra money if you can swing it.

Had to return cameras due to not being compatible with my DVR...
Jeff Stauffer•April 29, 2017
Returned cameras due to being incompatible with my Amcrest DVR. Other Amcrest cameras I purchased seem to be high quality and I assume that their full HD cameras are as well. Advise checking Amcrest website to check for compatibility to your DVR before purchase.
Affordable High Def Camera
CW•April 26, 2017
Outstanding high def cameras and a really affordable price. If you need extra cameras to add to your Amcrest system, these work perfectly. Don't forget to buy the wire and the power unit. I bought three to bring my system up to 9 active cameras with 2 standby's. The wide angle view and high def picture is astounding. Night vision is good but tends to be speckled more than other camera systems but still really good.
