I am not convinced if these really work. I have always liked using Downy, but am always willing to look at more environ-friendly solutions. All I know for sure is that these things make a lot of noise while running the dryer. I wonder if they are beating my dryer too much or might possibly break buttons on my shirts?

I first discovered these at my brother-in-law's house two years ago.They worked so well I bought a box of three at a brick and mortar store for my dryer. Then three more for my beach house. My only complaint was when drying nylon running shorts and nylon socks, the woolzies did not remove the static cling as well as I would have liked. Then my wife lost one of the balls (don't ask - how do you lose a dryer ball going from dryer to bedroom and not be able to find it - it is the size of a tennis ball.) Since the Woolzies box recommends three balls for a small to medium size dryer and six for a large unit, I decided to buy three more. Of course Amazon was a much better choice than trekking 15 miles to the original store (not to mention $7 cheaper.) Now with five balls, there is no more static cling. No more softener sheets or Downy for me.

I originally only received 2 dryer balls. I was extremely disappointed since I had been debating on trying them and finally decided I would take the risk. I contacted the company and they promptly sent another in the mail and I had it by the end of the week. I've used them for several loads now and love the fact I can smell the essential oils that I placed on the balls rather than a synthetic fragrance. I haven't noticed the static that others have been mentioning. I am also really happy with how fast my clothes dry now. I have been able to shorten the load time and get through the 5 loads a day a lot faster! Haha! I have been recommending the product to others and will continue to do so. Been using these dryer balls for a couple of years now. They still work like a charm and look new. Before buying them I worried I'd have to listen to them knocking around the dryer, but that doesn't happen. No extra noise. I do have to be careful when removing towels, sheets, anything large from the dryer. Pull them out too quickly and you'll send trapped dryer balls flying/ricocheting 'round the room.

Can't tell for sure if loads dry more quickly, but I think they do. Fewer wrinkles? Probably. These Woolzies most definitely put the kibosh on static cling, and everything is much softer than when not using them (I hate typical fabric softeners and never ever ever have them in the house). All in all, my only regret is that I didn't get a five or six pack that was available at the time. Not that I'm complaining, mind you! Three is good. But if I had it to do over again...

I cannot use any kind of dryer sheets or fabric softeners and thought I was condemned to stiff towels and dresses (can only wear 100% cotton, except for bra and support hose). When I saw these on Amazon I just had to try them out. THEY REALLY WORK. In fact I am ordering another couple of sets -- now using 3 balls in each load and need to increase that for sheets and towels because of the weight when wet.

I don't know about synthetics, but they have definitely reduced the static in my 100% cotton dresses and sheets, something that again I thought wasn't possible. In fact the box mentions making your own static "balls" out of aluminum foil, not necessary as just the dresses alone are less static. Now they are not completely static free, but reduced. My dresses and sheets still collect flying fuzzies from my long-haired cat, but not as much and it is much easier to remove them with a lint brush (something not that easy to do before Woolzies).

Definitely recommend them to a friend, in fact have done so several times. They do work.
