High quality - makes a great birthday gift!
Penelope Campbell•July 6, 2017
My daughter received this as a birthday gift for her third birthday. She had never had any kind of doll except a handful of stuffed dollies/babies. She immediately loved Ariel, as did her one-year-old brother. Now they are two and four years old and these dolls get more frequent play than before, by both my son and my daughter, together and individually. My (now 4.5-year-old) daughter has one 12" (Rapunzel) doll and likes to pretend the petite dolls are Rapunzel's children. Every child that my daughter has over, boy and girl alike, are interested in the Ariel doll in particular. We have a Disney castle dollhouse intended for 12" dolls, and I personally feel like these 6" dolls work better in it. We liked these dolls so much we got the Anna/Elsa/trolls set and Jasmine/Raja as well. Some of the petite princesses come with princes as well.
Pros:
Non-sexualized dolls, appropriate for the youngest of girls.
They actually fit 12" (Barbie size) doll clothing (my daughter dresses them in the short dresses since they are half the height of a 12" doll).
The other "petite princess" (non-Mermaid) dolls can wear Ariel's tail and the tiaras.
There are no shoes to fall off or keep up with.
The hair has stayed relatively nice (after 1.5 years of frequent use), especially the sisters' updos.
They stand up on their own and are very stable.
Ariel can sit when her tail is off.
The tiaras are fun!
Ariel being able to "transform" from mermaid to human and back again is pretty cool.
Perfect for little hands.
Encourages pretend play!
Cons:
Ariel's tail is *very* hard to take off and harder still to put back on.
It makes perfect sense that the sisters' tails do not come off, but it's kind of a bummer for the kid who loves to trade around the dolls' clothing and accessories.
Overall, this is a good quality toy/set that has stood the test of time. I recommend it especially for 3-5 year olds.

Ariel and sisters

I bought this set for my granddaughters birthday. They were a little smaller than I expected. About the height of a barbie doll but a little plumper. I was a little disappointed. But my granddaughter loved them and thats all that matters. The fact that there were sisters in there just made her day since she loves Ariel so much. I consider it a good choice, Something she can play with in the bathtub. They were worth the money I spent on them.
