If you are looking to put a serious sear on a piece of meat, this certainly will do the job. I use it to sear my steaks after cooking them with the sous vide method. As close as I can get to a restaurant style char on my steak. I have in my years in professional kitchens cooked 1000's of steak. Save your charcoal. Turn the chimney upside down.
