Great Scooter (which you pay for)
Ts✓ Verified Purchase•October 5, 2017
My 3 year old and 2 year old granddaughters have this scooter and they love it. They zoom around the driveway and can keep up with the 4 year old who has a regular razor scooter. I previously bought a radio flyer 3 wheel scooter and it is very clumsy and slow. No comparison. I also tried the razor 3 wheel scooter. It is better, but it is so short you can't put one foot behind the other. We returned it. The reason I tried these other ones is because I didn't want to spend $130 on a kids scooter. Especially since I had to buy 2. However, this scooter is really well designed and is fast and fun. The 2 year old is a peanut, so I think any 2 year old could ride it. Very good scooter. Very pricey.
Best scooter for 2-9 year old kids

Best scooter for 5-9 year old kids. Both my boys have one and use it everyday. Quite resistant to rough boys! And it is relatively cheap to order a spare part or accessories from Micro. I love that it does not hurt my ankles like Razors. And it is easier on kids who have more trouble with balance. I wish I had ordered this very model (marketed as "for 5+ kids) when my kid was 2 as it is just the same proportion as the kiddie Micro model with no adjustable "wheel". My kid would have grown with it. Now he outgrew his kiddie Micro and we have to purchase this older kid model. But it would have been just fine for a 2 year old.
Good quality scooter

Good quality scooter. The metal part on the back where the brake is vibrates and causes noises. It doesn't take away from the brakes functionality, it just bothers me (my son and husband claimed to not notice until I brought it to their attention). To turn the scooter, you lean the handles to the side in the direction you want to go. It doesn't make sharp turns, but I'm actually ok with that because it decreases the possibility of the scooter destabilizing when the wheel turns 90 degrees like on some other scooters (or wagons). We got this for my son when he was 3 and he rode it very well then. I don't let him ride on our sidewalk because we have places that where the sidewalk slabs meet that are not at all flush with each other and I'm afraid with the small wheels of the scooter, he'll go over the big bumps and the wheels will catch on the bump and he'll go flying off. So, instead, we go to a park where the walk path is very smooth. It's great that the front has 2 wheels instead of the back, so when when he kicks, he's not kicking a wheel.
Best birthday gift for my 6 year old girl

I bought this scooter for my 6 year old daughter's birthday, and it was an enormous hit. She loves it, and I am impressed at how fast she can go on this! She normally isn't the most active kid, so I was also happy to see a sudden and lasting change in her exercise habits!
My 8 year old son also tried her scooter and loved it, and so I had to buy him a scooter as well... I bought him the Razor A3 instead (definitely less expensive!), and although he likes it OK, you can tell he prefers the Maxi - it's just a bit too small for him, sadly.
Although a bit pricey, this is a great scooter, and I am thrilled to have finally found that "perfect birthday gift" for my daughter!

Great for kids just learning and still fun after!

This scooter is awesome! I researched lots of scooters and read lots of reviews and this got the best reviews. My then 4 year old loved it. We got it for her for Christmas and I almost got the Mini Micro but I'm glad I went with the Maxi cause it worked then and will work for many years. She struggles with bikes cause she doesn't have the patience and neither do I so I decided on this scooter. It's easy to steer and balance and its adjustable. Since it was Christmas and there was snow she would ride it inside all over the place. Now that it's summer she loves it outside too. She likes to go fast and she never liked to go fast. It's because she is in control. She can do hills which frustrated her and me on a bike. We tried other scooters with one wheel and two wheels on the back and this scooter is so great for her. She's 5 and still buzzes around on it. Her 1 year old sister putts around on it too. Handle bars are too tall for her but she can get the general idea. I would totally buy this scooter again for my other kids. It was more than I wanted to spend but I decided I needed to spend the extra to make it better and more enjoyable for her and I'm so glad I did. It's sturdy and well built and easy to adjust and cute! I loved all the colors I could pick from. She'll get used to the bike eventually when I make dad with all the patience help, right now she's so happy with the scooter! It has a great concept for steering too. Instead of turning the handle bars she just leans side to side and shifts her weight and voila that's where it goes.
