Nice little speaker. I have the original which I love but is no longer available for some reason. This one is a tad smaller and sounds great, they have expanded the bass. Not sure about the battery yet, but if it holds true to the spec's as the original did, will be fine. Original one lasted an amazing 12+ hours on a charge (3 rounds of golf). This one has an 8 hour spec'd playing time and will be happy if I can get 2 rounds of golf out of it between charges. Great looks, size and color's.

For what you get for what you pay, this is fantastic.

I have tried to get good, quality sound for my outside events in my backyard and my workshop. I hooked up some older speakers to my player, and I got good sound, but there were tangled cords everywhere, and getting everything back inside from the yard was a chore.

This little device cut the cord, so to speak, on all that.

It is loud enough for the patio or firepit, and can be adjusted to taste using the controls.

Set-up was absurdly simple. I turned on my device, turned on Bluetooth, then powered up the OontZ. Within a few seconds the two had paired, and the music began playing through the speaker.

I've switched around to different devices in the garage, the patio, and my office, and in each instance the method for pairing / re-pairing work perfectly.

The volume controls are easy to use, as is the on/off button. The device can be recharged using a micro-USB connection (one is provided) and it can be paired with a non-Bluetooth device using the provided micro RCA connector (same as connecting a device to a typical stereo or computer). [ETA: Not sure on the name of the RCA jack, whether it's "micro" or "mini", but it's the one you'd use to connect headphones on your smartphone.]

Sound quality is great for this small speaker, and it can be laid down on a table to enhance the bass, or stood upright for a brighter sound. There are no other controls for adjusting sound quality, but for parties and outdoor social events, it's perfectly fine.

Yes, I was skeptical when I ordered it and thought it would be tinny or too quiet, but it is good-quality and loud enough for my uses.

I have not tried larger devices, such as boombox-size Bluetooth speakers, so I imagine that you can get even louder sound, but for this price, this is a steal.

Pound for pound, dollar for dollar, the best value small portable Bluetooth speaker available on Amazon, among the many I have bought. Easy to pair, extremely quick to pick up Bluetooth signal, decent range, good highs and mids, acceptable bass for its size, remarkably loud volume for a 10 watt speaker. No, this speaker will not fill a large room with full-bodied sound--for that, you need a larger, higher-wattage speaker--but if you want something very portable to carry with you out to the garage, the back yard, or the beach, this is a great deal. The "splash" protection, which does work, is a bonus, as is the attractive design. Small enough to put in your suitcase or carry-on for trips, a nice way to enjoy your music in a hotel room. Like all small speakers, for the low end sound it helps if you are running your music source (e.g. on your phone or tablet) through an equalizer. Also, like most Bluetooth speakers, your ear perceives a fuller sound if you place it near a wall or corner. But overall, an outstanding value.

I love this little speaker! I got it for playing audiobooks in my 2007 toyota, after various through the radio attempts to play them (shifting stations, interference, terrible sound, and so on) (have no connections to car stereo for iphone). Thanks to the review by the long distance trucker who said it was really loud enough to hear over bad road noise--he was totally right. I put the speaker in one place on the console, my iphone on another, start my audiobook and escape from the world as I drive. Bought a device for charging both iphone and speaker in case of a really long drive (I'm in rural Vermont when I use this) but the speaker seems to run forever without plugging into the charger. And after listening to a friend's little Bose wireless speaker and iphone at a croquet party (that's what we do for entertainment in the north country), I decided my speaker sounded pretty darn good in comparison (testing with Pavarotti singing loudly...). I also discovered it's great for outdoor tasks like painting--no need for earphones or to have iphone in danger of dropping into paint bucket--put both in a safe place and let the song, or story, rip.

The clarity of this speaker is exactly what I wanted. Crisp and clear. Well balanced for this size speaker. I like the shape, size, weight and water resistance. Its loud enough for what I use it for which is Portable Turntablism...bluetooth, rubber sides...good little speaker right here IMO.
