Almost Great

I bought this to hold a 9mm to the bottom of a metal shelf, which it does extremely well because of the wickedly powerful magnet. In fact, it is so powerful that when I accidentally got it stuck in a corner, it took me five minutes and two screwdrivers to pry it loose. The real issue(s) I have with it is the single screw hole attachment point and the plastic cover, which pops off too easily. (The provided double-stick tape has to be a joke, right?) It needs two screw holes to keep it from spinning, and it really needs to be completely encased in plastic to keep the cover from ever popping off. (I used some E6000 E6000 237032 Craft Adhesive, 2 fl oz Clear on the magnet and the cover to keep them in place and so far so good.)
Even with downfalls it is an EXCELENT product!

Unparalleled strength as far as I can tell. Holds a fully loaded 1911 (Colt Commander) with no movement of the magnet!
Only cons I can see (both of which can be fixed with minor modification and negligible cost):
1) The magnet has a smooth bottom. If you are affixing it to a plastic surface or another material that is slick, there is a chance (not verified as I
have yet to mount it) of the magnet itself moving around the single screw mount option. Perhaps an extra dot of metal at all four corners to allow
it to draw into the mounting material at anchor points would alleviate this concern; or a second screw hole to mount it with two anchor points.
2) The other has been brought up by others as well. The cover causes some concern of removing without that as the desired effect; however,
double sided scotch, or 3M Scotch 4011 Exterior Mounting Tape, 1 in x 60 in cut to the size of the magnet (for permanent
applications) will fix this issue just fine.
Overall I believe this is an excellent product that has MULTIPLE uses, not only the advertised ones. I also think this product is more than likely stronger than advertised. It would not surprise me to find that I could mount an AR style weapon by placing the barrel directly on it (dangling it downward from the tip of the barrel with the butt stock facing the gorund).

This is a great little magnet, more than enough power to hold my little p238. I used Gorilla Mounting Tape rated at 30 lbs. and it holds well on a flat plastic surface. The rubbery cover would not stay in place when I would remove my pistol, so I used more of the mounting tape to cover the magnet with leather. Now I can place and remove my gun with no damage and it still holds very well.
This is perfect for my ruger lc9 pro

This is perfect for my ruger lc9 pro! It is a very strong magnet. It came with a screw and strong double sided tape for mounting. I chose to use the tape since I didn't want to put a hole in my cars interior, and it holds the magnet very secure. Very happy with this purchase!

Great little item! Smaller than you would think. Very strong magnet. The rubber cover provides great protection for your gun. A spot likely overlooked by many would be the seat frame rails in your car. I have two of these. One for a gun and one for a spare mag. Each within easy reach of the while seated in the driver's seat.
