Scorching

I purchased this cover on October 24/2016 and although I like the fit and cover I'm disappointed because the cover has become scorched quite badly. I do a lot of quilting so, of course, do a lot of ironing. This cover was advertised that it resisted scorching but that isn't correct. Mine is badly scorched.

Way too small... barely reaches the edges of a standard size board, much less wrap around to secure to the board. And the straps to help it fit/stay on do not work - put them on one way they are too short; the other way they are way too long. Bad design!. A shame because otherwise the quality is very nice.

I was really torn whether I should rate this 4 or 5 stars. The color is great (which admittedly is a little brighter than the picture, which is fine by me), and it has the perfect amount of padding. I didn't have any problems getting the straps to work, like others mentioned, which actually makes me wonder if they got deffective straps or didn't realize that they were velcroed together and become twice as long when undone. I ultimatley decided to give this cover 4 stars for a couple reasons. One of those being that you really have to tug hard on the strings to get it to fit snugly. Also once pulled tight the strings are quite long. I cut the strings shorter then tied them up and pushed them under the pad to keep them up and out of the way. Finally, as others have mentioned a third strap would have been useful to help keep the pad on evenly since the holes are already there.

The cover itself is fine but the design of the straps makes them incapable of functionality. If you try to use as in the picture on the "box" they are drastically too short and the velcro is sewed on improperly making it impossible even if it was the correct length.

I have an ironing board that must be over 25 years old, with an ugly patterned cover on it, and the elastic was crumbling to the floor every time I set it up. And who wants to get the vacuum cleaner out after ironing? Ain't no one got time for that. Decided to treat myself to a pretty cover, even though the board lives in the closet most of the time.
Went on easy enough. Some tugging to get the string real tight. The velcro straps did the rest of the job. Haven't used it yet, but it looks pretty.
