Sturdy for compostible bags.

These are SO much sturdier than the ones our city sent out as samples when we got our organics can.
AND, they are actually big enough for my 3 gallon can!
However, if you are adding very MOIST food, it's best to put a food-soiled paper towel or piece of egg carton in the bottom, to absorb moisture. I also store a few pieces of paper egg carton in the bottom of the can, just in case.
I hope Unni also manufactures sandwich bags, as my spouse refuses to take a sandwich with him without a PLASTIC bag.

I like them very much and have just switched to them after using a green bag, for years, that has petroleum in it. I use them for storing food scraps in the refrigerator for a week until it's time for the garbage truck to come as we no longer can compost where I live. I am trying to use as little plastic as possible.

I've been through two rolls of 100 each. I have found them to easily tear at the top of the bag that defeats the ability to tie a knot and stretch the opening over our clean-green container. Sometimes the verticle tears are there before I tear a new one from the roll. Tonight, twice in a row, as I was tearing off the bag, the rip turned 90degrees off the perforated line and ran up the middle of the bag. I took a 6 month "vacation" from these bags and used up a roll bought at Costo for the same price. No rips, no tears(rhymes with ears!)

Work as intended. Do not have much experience with other brands to compare, but the only complaint is that they don't hold up well if trying to fill the compost pale. So just have to make a habit to empty at 75% full.
Thick and durable as advertised, but moisture passes through.

These bags are thick enough to resist tearing and punctures, better than the standard plastic grocery bags and those trash bags that come in rolls. I feel a lot better knowing that these bags are biodegradable. If my municipality doesn't have an industrial composting facility, the bags have to break down over time, and even if that time is a hundred years, it's better than plastic, which will be plaguing us forever.
The only drawback I've found is that the bags are semi-permeable to moisture -- they "sweat". With organic kitchen waste, my trash can gets wet and odorous, and I have to clean it out when I change bags. This would be less of a problem if you change them out every day or two. Since I only change them twice a week, my solution was to line the trash can with a traditional plastic bag, then put these inside. With this arrangement, I can throw the trash out in the biodegradable bags and keep my trash can clean. When the plastic gets too dirty from the moisture, I replace the plastic liner, either folding up the dirty one to recycle, or using it for non-biodegradable trash.
